Hi, anyone have any hog huntin stories from Bankhead forest area? The one that slipped away or the one that was not so lucky? I love to hear anything from the bankhead area. I see a lot of rattle snakes down there. Killed more than a few hogs a few years ago around that area. Its nver hardly see deer. Thanks for any stories.

I hunted last special hunt in September shot a guess weight 200lb sow

i coon hunt the national forest on addison side and ive seen alot of sign and heard pleanty of pigs last year. this year i did see some older sign but its been few and far in between. should have went on a hunt last year like i wantwd to but never got around to it. foind a big circular trap in there ladt year too

Hunted it a cpl times. Found wallows and lots of sign, but man I would hate to have had to drag one out of where we saw it. I did run into a small group of big black mean snarling ones on the N side on private property a few years ago. Also saw a very large boar doa on the side of the road on the SW side. We have property on the Sw side, all wooded, no Ag. Never seen any hogs or sign at all there.

Yeah i killed a 200#er 700 yards off a road in a holler and it took me and another grown man 3 hours to get him to the road. Using a deer cart. We had to drag him up 2 hollers. I shot one on another trip and the sucker run off a bluff that was about 100ft down. I shot a 20 pounder that tasted awful. Out of all the hogs i have killed, they all tasted great except for that little 20#er. I thought that one would taste the best. Most of them were just infested with ticks. I got one that had real nice 3 inch tusks. Got that one mounted too

I saw a fawn colored one dead a couple years ago. A game warden was parked behind it. Looked like the warden shot it and it ran out onto a dirt road intersection close to hwy 33. I was gonna stop and ask if i could have him to eat but it was blazin hot outside and figured it would be bad by the time i got it home and cleaned it. Man i love me some wild pig on a smoker
