He'll probably play 5 top 20 defenses this year which will be 5 more than he's ever played against at Baylor.

I don't care who it is. Just don't play three of them during the first series of the game.

Let the Bammer bashing begin. Maybe if we beat Clemson that will silence them....... Wait duct tape and a ball gag can't stop them from ranting and raving about 2 million national championships and how great they are or how hot all their cousins they've dated were rowl tard... 1992 we claim 12 "Naw, y'all only have 9" -auburn fans 2009 we claim 13 "Naw, y'all only have 9" -auburn fans 2011 we claim 14 "Naw, y'all only have 9" -auburn fans 2012 we claim 15 "Naw, y'all only have 9" -auburn fans 2015 we claim 16 "Naw, y'all only have 9" -auburn fans

You remind me of that mechanic in Vacation that tells Chevy Chase after he walked through the desert.."How can anybody be as gosh darn stupid as you"? Go back and look at the last post you started. The majority of the negative post about AU are from barners. Look at the post i made about Stidham may be the real deal and the barn might be undefeated in Oct.

Sad part is we played a better game against Clemson from a defense standpoint and Bama supposed to be the best defense in the country last year. The secret is to have a 5 ft tall white receiver in the slot and Bama can't stop him. Insert Will Hastings (Renfrow 2.0) Sounds like you've got it all figured out. Maybe they should hire you after they run Gus

Cool story bro. Of the 9 years between '83 and '92, which 6 did "you" win championships in? Or is that when the Tuscaloosa Time Machine was invented? Wayne Atcheson, then sports information director, now curator of the Billy Graham library in North Carolina, made the decision in 1991 to claim 6 titles that were awarded to the University of Alabama football program that previous administrations didn't acknowledge Why they didn't I don't know. As you probably know, (or might not) titles were awarded before bowl games then I wish we didn't claim 1941 But I also know there are 2 or 3 other legit ones we should

I don't get bend out of shape over the total number, I just know it eats at your ass however many Bama has won is a heck of a lot more than the barn has

I can promise you that it's not possible for me to care any less how many Bama has won vs Auburn. If Auburn loses every game this season, my mortgage won't go up, I'll still have my job, and still hunt every weekend. I'll still go to bed each night knowing that I attended an awesome university that means a hell of a lot more to me than a football game. Doubt 85% of elephant fans can say the same. Lives are ruined when Bama loses. And it is because there is a large portion of Bama fans whose entire self worth is dependent on how well a bunch of 18-22 year old young men perform on Saturday.

I cant say I disagree with anything above. But you sure do bash bama a lot for someone who really doesn't care. As for AU itself, it is a fantastic university. Very nice campus, great college life. Ive had the opportunity to attend several extended classes at AU and really enjoyed the time there. With all that said, the football team sucks, always been jealous of Bama and if Pat Dye ever said anything that was the truth it was when he said AU couldn't catch Bama tradition in 500 years...

Serious question for you Auburn fans: IF...IF Sean White were to leave the team now, could they afford to let Stidham to run any? I think Sean White standing on the sidelines or not affects game plan and play calling. Who is #3?? I'm sure that has to be in back of their minds. I would guess that freshman Malik Willis would be the #3. But I have no way of knowing for sure.

Ole Chris4wde2 sounds like he has some getting some private lessons from Burbank. We all know Burbank likes treble hooks, but I thought he would have at least learned not to continue with the use of the #boom........ I really don't think that hashtag ever lived up to expectations, but then again, he should be used to that

But I have no way of knowing for sure. according to my auburn fan friends Malik is 2 now and White is 3.

From what I'm told is that if the season was on the line, Willis would go in. He's been that impressive. If the season weren't on the line, or a game is out of hand, either way, White plays and they try to save a Redshirt for Willis. The situation will dictate what they do. If it calls for dynamics, then it is Willis. If experience and steadiness is better, White is the man. they know what they have with White. Putting Willis in is a gamble. He has the potential to be the best player on the field, or the worst. I think Gus is going to be a little leery depending on a QB based on potential. We've been torched by that before.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Hey Bob, That's pretty cool a barner has a 1983 Bama media guide!!
There it is...developer of men, wins don't matter, blah blah blah junk. Just fold the football program up or promote Saturdays as "come hear the band play and watch a little football break out". Just stop this cry baby crap about your life continuing on because if that were true you wouldn't even be posting in here. You worship the same God most of the rest of the state worships on Saturdays.

You worship the same God most of the rest of the state worships on Saturdays. Nice. Never once said I didn't care about football or that I didn't care if Auburn loses. I said it doesn't dictate how I spend every waking hour like some others. Good try though. I am in the woods on Saturday by way. I watch my football on Sunday night when I get home from TN. If Auburn loses on Saturday, I wake up Sunday morning and head for a tree stand just like I would if they won. I come on here just to watch the train wreck, and talk shitt if I feel like it. No more, no less. I can also promise you the God I worship has nothing to do with football.

1) You mention God several times 2) You hunt Sunday mornings, assuming not going to church 3) You threw a curse word in there 4) You mention worshiping God in the next sentence

Really? That's the irony? 1) Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than sitting in your garage makes you a car. I am a lot closer to him sitting in my tree stand watching the sun rise over his creation than anywhere else I care to be. 2) If saying a curse word is the worst thing I do today, I'll take it. You fellas can keep reaching all you want. BTW, learn the definition of several Phil.

He'll probably play 5 top 20 defenses this year which will be 5 more than he's ever played against at Baylor. Yea because the SEC has been known for the defensive side of the ball in the last few years

70 yards on 39 carries, the SEC defenses will eat him alive. Go to bed old man......in case you haven't realized....the defense's have been waaayyyy down in the SEC. Actually they are down right horrible.

But I have no way of knowing for sure. according to my auburn fan friends Malik is 2 now and White is 3. Which probably means White will be starting by game 3. Don't forget, Gus had his best RB siting on the bench the first 2 games last year. I believe Saban had his best Qb on the bench the first game also.

Not only did Saban bench his best qb to start the season, he benched his offensive coordinator for the last game. Stupid ass cost his team and university a national title. Hehe..cost his team a national title?.REB go watch the 2013 Aub-FSU game if you wanna see a dumb ass at work.Maybe the biggest choke job in the history of the title game.Y'all WERE kicking their ass...HAHA but Gussy got cute with his coaching.

My honest take on the Stidham is over rated talk:
I think he has a great arm and accuracy, but the pressure was like nothing he has ever seen before. Hopefully he'll learn going into SEC play that you can't hold the ball that long. Tuck it and run if you have an open lane or throw to a check down receiver or throw it away. He's got the arm and accuracy when he gets used to this level of play he should be an asset. I don't say over rated by any means. I just say that he was thrown into the fire against what looks to be a superior defense. That's a tough way to start shaking off rust. My big disappointment is that with all the talk of a new coordinator, it still looked like Gus was calling the plays.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Come on, he didn't even look good last week.
True. He hasn't looked good yet, consistent or wholly confident. His head coach is calling plays again despite hiring the vaunted OC who supposedly was given the keys to the kingdom and the QB. Clemson's defense plastered his ass all night - they're a strong, confident defense and Venables planned well. They're a phuckin' mess down there -- again -- and until changes are made, it won't matter.

Although I'm a devout "Bammer", sworn enemy of the barn, I am a Stidham fan. Give the guy a break. Yesterday was his 5th college start. Everything is still new for him. He was playing in one of the toughest college venues against one of the best defenses. He has a total Buffoon for a head coach. Much to the chagrin of my auburn brethren, the O-Line sucks. Blame it on the Clem defense if you want but those clowns couldn't block the sisters of the poor. This is going to really hurt getting into SEC play. Basically, you guys are in trouble....

The pass protection was not that bad. Eleven sacks in one game prove otherwise. The offensive line didn't play well against Georgia Southern, either. They're disjointed, unconfident and along with Stidham's penchant for scrambling-running, it won't get better except for time/experience or changes.

Stidham should change his first name to be Brodie. If that's an indication as to where Auburn is at as a program right now, I'm happy because we (Bama) sucked bad back then.

Gus, would drown baby kittens to have a qb like Hurts. There is really no excuse for him not to have a decent offense. I didn't get to watch the game, but I listened to it on the way home last night. It sounds like Auburn has a solid team, except for the offense. He was hired BECAUSE, he's supposed to be an offensive guru.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

Kent State had more total yards against Clemson in Clemson than Auburn did.

He'll whip ass on Mercer next week tho. At what point has Stickman done anything to deserve the hype that the auburn coaches and writers adorned him with? In JuCo I remember reading he had 70 yards running with 36 or so attempts, his passing numbers weren't that dang good either. That would not be correct. He never played JUCO.

All of Stidhams hype came from him being a 5-star recruit coming out of high school. The dude can throw the football. It's just ashamed he has a high school coach in college. If he were still with Art Briles, he would be one of the best in college football. IMO

They called a play that was a 5 step drop when they were going for a first down needing 3 yards. This to me shows the ability of the HC or OC. As I remember, it was a turning point in the game. I mostly closed my eyes when the offense was on the field. Damn, I could go on and on, but it ain't worth the effort.

At one point it was, I think, 3rd-and-10. AU ran a 7-yard route, the WR turned back, caught the ball, and tried to spin inside for gain as the first of two guys hit him short of the line for 1st down. Brilliant play. SMH

There was an earlier thread about Vegas odds on him winning the heismen. During the pre-season, a few die-hard aubies were biting into it.

All I'm saying is, you put just about any other sec qb in there except floridas, and we are looking at 4-5 sacks max. Not good by any means, but against a Clemson defense, not terrible. Gus played a big role in it as well. Saw basically no 3 step drop to quick slants. In highschool, the o line would run 3 "gassers" for every sack. Except for sacks that happened after 4 seconds, the qb's would run for those.

I think Stidham is a good QB, and I think they have had several good QBs over the past few years. The problem is not the players - it's the coachs' inability to develop them. Gus is out of his league and as long as Auburn holds on to him they can expect nothing other than being average. I'm not sure about "several" but you hit the problem right between the eyes IMO.

I may not be the best English student in the "aldeer class" but I never claimed to be. I'll tell you this, I never would want to go through a football season riding on the shoulders of one player and hoping to win a championship of some sort. Y'all auburn fans are looking for another cam newton to win close games for you. It ain't happening with stidum or white or whichever DB y'all pick to start taking snaps. Until Gus is gone auburn will not win. That's all there is to it. Y'all want to praise your defense for "shutting down" Clemson offense but what if they really aren't that good? Why wouldn't they rank Clemson 2 and Oklahoma 3 ? Is it because Oklahoma is that good or that we aren't sure what Clemson really looks like? Ohio state struggled against Indiana in the opener. No one was surprised that OU beat OSU like no one was surprised Clemson beat Auburn. Auburn is 8-4 at best and hopefully they can win a bowl game.

I think if you'll look I haven't praised a damn thing about AU football in quite a while. I've seen it coming for a while. You're not telling us anything we don't know. You probly weren't even born during the Shula years yet. But bammer sucked not too long ago. It's cyclical. It will swing back around.

It's cyclical. It will swing back around. And the higher you go the further the fall. Alabama is at the top, possibly of all time. It could be a long fall. Poor fellow that follows Saban will be fired and maybe beheaded if he goes 9-3. I'll enjoy it now while it last though.

You are 100% correct, I go back to the Bryant era, there has been tremendous success, but If you were around during the Dubose years, you know how bad it can get. And it will one day again tank, But in the meantime, it is one hell of a ride.

Very true, I've lived through times when AU dominated UA and times that we were dominated. BTW, I'm not giving up on Stidham yet. He has the arm and the accuracy, but his timing on when to get rid of the ball is off. He just hasn't seen enough of SEC caliber defenses yet. Plus the fact that there weren't enough quick release passes called didn't help him. The game plan did him no favors against Clemson. It will be interesting to see how Jackson does against them Sat.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Brother I remember trailing to Duke at halftime and having to beat Vandy by a field goal. I not old enough to know the bear because I was born at the end of an era. I heard about Alabama greatest and championships but never saw one. So hell yeah I remember Shula. But that has nothing to do with Auburn. My first comment wasn't directed at any particular AU fan. It was just a comment. The rest of my comments have been directed to you 257 since you wanted to be a smart ass. Just remember this...the Gus bus is broke down right now on the side of the road and the Tide is rolling on by. You might have bought a lemon and probably need to trade it in for a different model. Just an observation from the outside looking in. You Auburn fans make it easy for me to sleep at night. I'm sure Nick is sleeping good also.

Hell i don't know....it's week 3, why is anyone ranked? Is there really a difference between being ranked 2 vs 3 this early is the season? I would say not. Right now there isn't a difference between being ranked 2 and 10.
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!

Louisville is about to beat Clemson and make it look even worse. Top to bottom, the sec is as bad as it's been in the 15 years I can remember watching. That's just a byproduct of Sabans tenure. Any in demand coach with a decent head on their shoulders is going to avoid the sec. So you're left with a bunch of high school coaches and Saban "disciples" and they all suck. It will take years for the sec to recover once Saban quits I agree wholeheartedly. The best coaches in FBS are no longer in the SEC, Saban being the obvious exception.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

Right now there isn't a difference between being ranked 2 and 10. I agree that there shouldn't be, but actually there is a difference. If number 2 loses right now they drop to 7 or 8. If number 10 loses they re probably out of playoff contention. It's not right, it's just the way it is and has been. If auburn had started number 2 in 2004 they would have had the opportunity to get the dogshit beat out of them by USC for the Natty.
