Come on, he didn't even look good last week.

True. He hasn't looked good yet, consistent or wholly confident. His head coach is calling plays again despite hiring the vaunted OC who supposedly was given the keys to the kingdom and the QB. Clemson's defense plastered his ass all night - they're a strong, confident defense and Venables planned well.

They're a phuckin' mess down there -- again -- and until changes are made, it won't matter.

Although I'm a devout "Bammer", sworn enemy of the barn, I am a Stidham fan. Give the guy a break. Yesterday was his 5th college start. Everything is still new for him. He was playing in one of the toughest college venues against one of the best defenses. He has a total Buffoon for a head coach. Much to the chagrin of my auburn brethren, the O-Line sucks. Blame it on the Clem defense if you want but those clowns couldn't block the sisters of the poor. This is going to really hurt getting into SEC play.

Basically, you guys are in trouble.... whistle

Most of those sacks came from holding on to the ball for 4-5 seconds. The pass protection was not that bad. Stidham simply stares down one reciever and then takes a sack instead of dumping the ball or throwing it to his check downs.

Eleven sacks in one game prove otherwise. The offensive line didn't play well against Georgia Southern, either. They're disjointed, unconfident and along with Stidham's penchant for scrambling-running, it won't get better except for time/experience or changes.

Stidham should change his first name to be Brodie.

If that's an indication as to where Auburn is at as a program right now, I'm happy because we (Bama) sucked bad back then.

I never understood the fit. He would probably be great in an air raid passing offense, I don't see him running the ball effectively in gus' scheme

seems like a nice enough guy

Gus, would drown baby kittens to have a qb like Hurts. There is really no excuse for him not to have a decent offense. I didn't get to watch the game, but I listened to it on the way home last night. It sounds like Auburn has a solid team, except for the offense. He was hired BECAUSE, he's supposed to be an offensive guru.

I'd drown baby kittens just to have an offense.

Kent State had more total yards against Clemson in Clemson than Auburn did.

He'll whip ass on Mercer next week tho. At what point has Stickman done anything to deserve the hype that the auburn coaches and writers adorned him with? In JuCo I remember reading he had 70 yards running with 36 or so attempts, his passing numbers weren't that dang good either.

That would not be correct. He never played JUCO.

What did he play? I thought that he was the #1 JuCo Qb?

central ala,
He played a few games at Baylor when the starter got hurt. Transfered to JUCO but was not on the team or played. And for his efforts, they gave him the #1 JUCO QB status.

All of Stidhams hype came from him being a 5-star recruit coming out of high school. The dude can throw the football. It's just ashamed he has a high school coach in college. If he were still with Art Briles, he would be one of the best in college football. IMO

Stidham doesn't have a chance with idots as coaches. They called a play that was a 5 step drop when they were going for a first down needing 3 yards. This to me shows the ability of the HC or OC. As I remember, it was a turning point in the game. I mostly closed my eyes when the offense was on the field.
Damn, I could go on and on, but it ain't worth the effort.

At one point it was, I think, 3rd-and-10. AU ran a 7-yard route, the WR turned back, caught the ball, and tried to spin inside for gain as the first of two guys hit him short of the line for 1st down.

Brilliant play. SMH
