I feel like I have a few spots that might be successful for some Teal this September but what as some attributes you look for in a good spot?

Teal.

Preferably using the pond/hole the evening before.

I've never had luck "preseason" scouting for teal. Perhaps others might have but not me.

I use to do the early teal and goose hunts, but I don't like dealing with the heat, mosquitoes and snakes enough to chase teal anymore.

We would always hunt shallow grassy coves and backwaters.

You'd probably do the best going around lowndes wma. Jordan has one or two places they might show up but ppl will be there even during the week.

With teal you gotta get while the gettin's good. They'll be using a hole one day and out of the area the next.

If you can find you a flooded pasture you'd be golden

I used to love to teal hunt. My brother and I knocked down 11 with 3 shots each once. We had a buddy with us but he was looking wrong way when the war started.
I may stick the shotgun in the boat in September and if a goose flies over, crack him.
I got to look and see what dates are.

TVA used to drop the water early enough to get grass growing on mud flats. Teal were pretty abundant too. Years ago, TVA started dropping water levels a few weeks later and that made a difference here.

We've seen as many as approximately 10,000 teal on one mudflat back in the day. We were banding wood ducks for some reason that morning. Killed a few that evening and killed 0 the next morning.

That's teal hunting.
