I saw 8 about chicken size yesterday. Could have been more, but I was glad to see then.

I've seen a good number this year. Seen hens with zero also.

Probably an overall ratio of 2:1 (poults/hen). There was an old thought that if the overall population could raise 1:1, that was a decent hatch. I think we could do better than that around here this year.

If you saw 2 hens with 5 poults a piece - then that would get you back to 1:1 if you observed 10 hens.

I haven't been in the woods much lately but I've been hearing pretty good reports too. Not as good as last year, but still pretty decent. This spring should be noisy with all the 2 year olds from the year before last's hatch

Hey, I got excited just to see a hen cross the road in Clarke Co. yesterday. I used to see turkeys all the time driving backroads here, now it's one to two times a year.

I may not see as many as I would like, but I see way more than that. Of course, I drive the back roads and woods roads thru timber more than..... anybody I guess.

I will say, the turkey around here aren't as visible as other places I've lived and worked. There's just not as many fields and open areas to see them loafing around. They live in woods all day, every day.

I've seen 3 hens with poults in tow. I've seen slightly less than in years past. With all the broken eggs I found late/post season, I'm happy in the few groups that I have seen.

I've seen more poults this year than any other summer on our place in memory. Can't wait for 2019. Two hens had what looked like 20+ before I stopped counting.

I killed around 10 coons and 12-15 possums this year on 40 acres and have seen no sign of poults.

Need about 100,000 acres to truly measure success with poult survival.

Two years from now, a hunter could kill a 2 year old on opening day that was hatched 10 miles away.

It's not that I don't get what your saying and the frustration - I do. When I see single hens this time of year, I think - well crap that sucks. But then I have to remember the bigger picture.

I drive a good many miles each month on the backroads of Clarke, Washington and Monroe Co. When I primarily done solid waste/illegal dump enforcement I had more backroad miles. Even where there are hay fields/pastures I don't see that many and it's usually 1-2 hens or jakes or maybe a lone gobbler. The last "flock" I saw was off I-65 between Greenville and Ft. Deposit.

There are a few places where it was routine to see turkeys and one field I can think of it's been over two years since I saw a turkey there. I discussed it with someone who lives nearby and he isn't seeing them either.

Had a good batch it looks like at the farm in Bibb Co. While discing this weekend saw 4 hens. One had no poults, 2 had about 6 a piece, and 1 had about 10. All were about chicken size.
