Okay folks I have spent the last 30 minutes looking through the digest. I want to know how many rounds can be carried in a rifle or shotgun while hunting Deer? I know on the Oakmulgee WMA it is no more than 11 total but I cannot find the regulation to save my life. I catch a lot of flack for copying and pasting, but that's what I find to be the most accurate way to answer these questions. Sometimes, you can only have one round per barrel, sometimes it's 11 rounds maximum (chamber and magazine): 220-2-.55 Wildlife Management Areas, Community Hunting Areas, Public Hunting Areas, and Refuges of Alabama
(1) It shall be unlawful on ALL WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS, COMMUNITY HUNTING AREAS, PUBLIC HUNTING AREAS, AND REFUGE AREAS, all of which are established as "wildlife management areas" by Rule 220-2-.22 and all of which are hereinafter sometimes collectively referred to herein as "AREAS" or "AREA":
(f) To have in possession any fully automatic rifle or any firearms, ammunition or bow and arrow except as described below:
1. DEER: Stalk Hunts - Centerfire rifles that have been plugged or are otherwise incapable of holding more than 11 cartridges and using mushrooming and/or expanding type ammunition, shotguns using slugs or single round balls, muzzle loading firearms .40 caliber or larger, or centerfire handguns with a minimum 4 inch barrel length using mushrooming and/or expanding type ammunition. All applicable laws regarding possessing and carrying handguns must be followed.
2. DEER: Stalk Hunting - Primitive Weapons Hunt -using only muzzle loading rifles, muzzle loading handguns, muzzle loading shotguns, or bow and arrow (including crossbow). Rifles and handguns to be .40 caliber or larger; shotguns to use single round balls only. Firearms must be incapable of holding more than one charge per barrel.
[emphasis added] Link to last year's Regulation Book ** Use last year's Regulation Book at your own risk. Changes may have been made for this year's hunting season. Here's what this year's Oakmulgee permit says: OAKMULGEE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA (Bibb, Hale, Perry & Tuscaloosa Counties) ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION OF WILDLIFE AND FRESHWATER FISHERIES Hunting Regulations – August 1, 2011 – July 31, 2012 PERMITTED FIREARMS AND BOW & ARROW: DEER: (Youth & Gun) Centerfire rifles that have been plugged or otherwise incapable of holding more than 11 cartridges and using mushrooming and/or expanding type ammunition, shotguns using slugs only, muzzleloading rifles .40 caliber or larger, or centerfire handguns with a minimum 4-inch barrel length using mushrooming and/or expanding ammunition. All applicable laws regarding possessing and carrying handguns must be followed. (Primitive Weapons) Only muzzleloading rifles, muzzleloading shotguns, bows & arrows, or crossbows will be legal. Rifles and shotguns may have fixed open metallic sights or scopes. Rifles to be .40 caliber or larger; shotguns to use pumpkin balls only. Firearms must be incapable of holding more than one charge per barrel. Link to Oakmulgee permit 2011-2012

Well shux....i thought it was 5. I paid damn near $20 just a few months ago for a 5 round AR clip to hunt with just for that reason.
