Leroy or other computer whizzes out there, I need some help. Had a power surge here at the office and now everything (icons/websites/email) is like 4 times the normal size. I'm sure this is an easy fix, but can someone help this fella out.

Thanks!

Not sure I completely follow, but if you're talking about text size and what not - hold control key and hit the minus sign.

Thanks, I did that but it only shrinks the page and not everything else. It's like I'm in landscape form currently.

Can you hover over the icon and then right click ...should give you a option to reduce the size

If you're using Windows 7, right click on the desktop and select "View"....on the pop out menu then select small, medium or large icons.

If you are running windows. look upper right. You should see 3 dots. Click there. Then you should have a drop down bar showing what percent you are on. There should be a - and a + . Adjust it by clicking the minus sign. Does this help? I keep mine at 125.

Right mouse click on the desktop, then change your resolution. If you go down in resolution your icons get larger, if you go up in resolution icons get smaller. Or as other have said you zoom maybe increased.

All good advice but I'm at the smallest resolution I can be and have all icons at "small."

Still looks the same.

For instance, the page I'm on now here on the forum...I can't see half of the names on the left (who's on) because everything else is so flippin big.

Brandon,
Have you tried completely powering down and then back on?

Restarted just now and everything seems to be back to where it was.

Thanks for the help, guys! thumbup

PSA: DO NOT change from landscape to portrait on your view. You will spend the next little while cussing your mouse for not dragging the pointer the direction you want it to go.

Too zoom in and out easily, hold Ctrl and roll the scroll wheel on your mouse.
In any window and on the desktop this will work as long as the default mouse settings haven't been changed.

Another helpful is to hold Ctrl + Shift and hit + or - to rotate.

Now that you are back in business, put your computer on a UPS and power surges won't affect it.

Sounds like your computer booted in safe mode, hence the large icons.
