to everyone that prefers climbers that is awesome and keep on keeping on. I unfortunately just do not trust climbers no matter how many times I have used both sit and climb and hand and climb versions without any recent incidents. I have had some close calls though when I was younger and now just prefer using climbing sticks with hang on stands for my walk in hunts. I have used muddy sticks with muddy lock on and lone wolf set up. Yet I am looking to change up and trying to decide on this seasons set up. I got to get the set up ordered within next week or so. Therefore looking for everyone's opinion on favorite climbing stick/lock on stabs set up. I prefer to do a lot of long haul walk in style hunting for all types of terrain and property. So I prefer to have the lightest set up I can get. I am currently looking at several combinations of sticks and stands. With X-stand mantis and x pedition combo, hawk sticks/undecided stand, lone wolf sticks/stand being 3 of set ups I have been looking at. But I'm Evaluating almost dozen combos of sticks and hang ons. So looking to hear other stick/hang on users reviews and opinions.

Millenium lock ons are comfortable, but I much prefer ladders, for safety reasons.

Highly considering summit bucksteps 2 4 pack with a hawk helium or a lone wolf assault 2 hang on with 4 lone wolf sticks. Looking at total weight of 23 lbs vs 21 lbs for each set up. But price difference of first set up is tempting to accept 2 lb of extra weight. Just one debates I'm going thru

I use the Field and Stream lock ons and the 25' sticks from Sportsman's Guide. The lock ons are are almost identical to the Millenniums at half the price.

I have a Lone Wolf lockon and their climbing sticks. After using the sticks for a while, I've decided that I love screw in steps better. EZYClimb screw in steps with a Lone Wolf stand is a pretty good combo.

I personally also like screw in steps but due to regulations on most public land and even significant amount of club or private land I hunt on or could possibly hunt on. Screw in steps are not an option I can utilize.

Waiting until seasonal price drops is tempting but I have to replace my old set up ASAP. I don't plan on missing any of this years season. Sitting from improvised ground blinds is a tactic I enjoy but not one tactic I feel like being committed to until January.

I use TV antena Towers. I have always gotten them free as people just want to get rid of them.

Sportsmans guide has 20' ladders for $35 dollars everyday price. They have a few comfy loc-ons reasonable.

Carrying around tv antenna towers or 20 ft ladder stands. Would get old after about the first 10 feet. Plus make all types of noise trying to sneak in and sneak out of areas. With a ladder stand I would likely end up creating my own trail thru swamp and woods. Got to stick with set ups that weigh under 25 lbs max. I prefer to not go over 20 lbs usually.

Of course these are left in the woods and not moved in daily.

Yeah leaving stands in areas is not how I tend to operate. It's nice when I hunt in certain set ups. But even on private property, clubs I tend to stick with light and mobile.
