All you smoke/dip quitters - Are you still on the wagon?

I've been dip and cigar free for just under a year now with no cheats. I quit cold turkey and never vaped or used Chantix. I still have moments that I feel like I just quit yesterday and could start again without missing a beat. I do feel physically better, but damn I miss a good cigar!

Next month will be 2 years without a cigarette. Cold turkey. I still dip, but I used to take a dip out to smoke a cigarette so I think I'm doing good.

start dipping every year in October and quit every year in February have done that for years. Not sure why, something about cold weather and hunting I guess.

Now that you mention it, July 9th marked 17 years since I quit Copenhagen. Use to go through at least a roll a week.

I quit dipping 3 or 4 years ago(maybe even longer, not real sure) when they took a biopsy from my tongue. Haven't touched any since. Now, I still wish I could quite often but just isn't worth it

Nope quit 13 years ago. Done with that mess. Just like most addictions, if you can wait 15 minutes, the craving will pass.

I quit almost 2 years ago. Don't think of it, or want a cigarette. That mess stinks.

Quit the snuff 3 turkey seasons ago and recently just started back buying a can here and there. Dumbest thing I've ever done. I'm not as bad as I used to be about it. Need to go ahead and put a stop to it before it gets back to where it was.

I put down the cancer sticks Nov 11, 2005 (the day my baby girl was born) and I haven't had a pinch of Copenhagen since last day of deer season 2 yrs ago.

Obviously, it varies from person to person. Been dipping for 40 years and don't plan on quitting anytime soon. I know I should, but just don't want to. Pitiful.

I am cigarette free for over 4 years now. I vaped for a short period to help with cravings but I hated it. Did help me quit though. Worst part of quitting is that I have done it about four times and gained a crapload of weight. Each time but this I went back to smoking. I am determined not to smoke again, just gotta get determined to lose weight.

August 1st will be 3 years no smoking.

But my meth usage has increased immensely.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I quit dipping 3 years ago after dipping for almost 20 years but picked up smoking.Ive tried the vape things and they just don't work for me.I bet I've spent $500 buying different vape mods.I have GOT to quit cause lung problems run on my mom's side and heart problems on my dads.

I don't know how you do it. If I had a dip right now, I might never be able to stop again. Fear is the only thing that keeps me in the wagon.

A REALLY good cigar is about one of the most enjoyable things I have experienced in my life. I get why Churchill always had one.Very tough to quit. I still go take a whiff of my old humidor sometimes.

After my heart attack ,,,I got home,,, wanted a cig real bad,,, I was smoking heavily the night of my attack,, thought about it real hard,,, I told myself I want to live,,,I'm two years free of cigs now,,,

Every now and then I want to smoke,,, while fishing this past spring ,,,(when I really loved to smoke) I slapped my pockets feeling for a pack,,, I said that's right I had quit smoking.

I see someone smoking and I want one,, tobacco damages the heart ,, the lungs and hardens the arteries,, shortens the breath,, effects sense of smell and taste,, not to mention how awful I smelled to non smokers,,

since I quit,, breathing is much better,,, when I used to try and holler at someone I couldn't cause I'd start coughing,,, now I can holler pretty darned good,

But I'll tell you this right now,, if tomorrow Trump comes on tv from the white house and says a giant earth ending asteroid is headed for the planet and we have just two weeks before it hits us,, I'm going down the street to the self serve gas station and getting about three cartons on camels then to the state store and look the @uck out son,,, lol

Call it 12 cans a week, 624 cans a year. So, in 17 years that's about 10,608 cans. WOW, that's a lot of snuff! Dang if I know where all the money I saved went.

In my world, it has never been better than that. A fine cigar around a hot campfire is one of life's pinnacles. I almost feel sorry for those that haven't experienced it.And now feel sorry for myself, because I have, and won't do it again. cry

I've been dip and cigar free for just under a year now with no cheats. I quit cold turkey and never vaped or used Chantix. I still have moments that I feel like I just quit yesterday and could start again without missing a beat. I do feel physically better, but damn I miss a good cigar!

Approaching 9 months and honestly haven't missed cigs at all. Haven't thought about until I seen this thread.

I wonder how much money you have saved?

Call it 12 cans a week, 624 cans a year. So, in 17 years that's about 10,608 cans. WOW, that's a lot of snuff! Dang if I know where all the money I saved went.

What does a can of Copenhagen cost? $3 plus? Unfortunately, there isn't $30k worth of Sigs in the safe. slap

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I don't know how you do it. If I had a dip right now, I might never be able to stop again. Fear is the only thing that keeps me in the wagon.

It's slowly getting worse everyday. Don't know why I ever picked a can back up after three years. But this thread was a much needed sign so this afternoon I spit a dip out and said that's it, gotta quit before it gets to where I can't. So thanks for the post thumbup

I quit dipping in 1998 using small fireball candies. To this day, I could eat a can of Copenhagen if it were free and wouldn't kill me. It smells so good...., but I haven't had one dip since then.

I stopped smoking 15 years ago when I started scuba diving. But I started dipping instead. Stopped dipping 3 years ago and never looked back. Ate the hell out of fireballs but I did it cold turkey.

I have added a few pounds since though.

I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

Almost 66 years without any kind of smoke, dip or chew and I don't miss the stinking, nasty looking crap at all.

Dip is gross, nasty spit bottles all over truck, house etc full of old stinking saliva. Spit running down your face staining clothes, getting all over the boat or truck door. Once I quit I realized how gross of a habit it was. Still want one now and then but thankful I dont have to carry a spit bottle everywhere I go anymore

Aww, just when I thought I was going to win (actually I did). Congrats on 66 years.

I'm 30 years next month without a cigarette. I would have dreams for a few years after I quit in which I would light up without thinking about it and then realize I had quit and wasn't supposed to be smoking. The disappointment would sometimes wake me up. So thankful to the Lord for helping me quit (there is a backstory, one of the very few times in my life when I believe I heard His voice inside me so clearly that I stopped and turned around to see if someone had spoken to me).

Never understood how any woman would come anywhere near a man who did this, but apparently they do.
