Quit the snuff 3 turkey seasons ago and recently just started back buying a can here and there. Dumbest thing I've ever done. I'm not as bad as I used to be about it. Need to go ahead and put a stop to it before it gets back to where it was. I don't know how you do it. If I had a dip right now, I might never be able to stop again. Fear is the only thing that keeps me in the wagon.

Quit cigarettes probably 7 years ago, need to kick the cigars, but that will be even harder... A REALLY good cigar is about one of the most enjoyable things I have experienced in my life. I get why Churchill always had one.Very tough to quit. I still go take a whiff of my old humidor sometimes.

After my heart attack ,,,I got home,,, wanted a cig real bad,,, I was smoking heavily the night of my attack,, thought about it real hard,,, I told myself I want to live,,,I'm two years free of cigs now,,, Every now and then I want to smoke,,, while fishing this past spring ,,,(when I really loved to smoke) I slapped my pockets feeling for a pack,,, I said that's right I had quit smoking. I see someone smoking and I want one,, tobacco damages the heart ,, the lungs and hardens the arteries,, shortens the breath,, effects sense of smell and taste,, not to mention how awful I smelled to non smokers,, since I quit,, breathing is much better,,, when I used to try and holler at someone I couldn't cause I'd start coughing,,, now I can holler pretty darned good, But I'll tell you this right now,, if tomorrow Trump comes on tv from the white house and says a giant earth ending asteroid is headed for the planet and we have just two weeks before it hits us,, I'm going down the street to the self serve gas station and getting about three cartons on camels then to the state store and look the @uck out son,,,

Now that you mention it, July 9th marked 17 years since I quit Copenhagen. Use to go through at least a roll a week. I wonder how much money you have saved?

Now that you mention it, July 9th marked 17 years since I quit Copenhagen. Use to go through at least a roll a week. I wonder how much money you have saved? Call it 12 cans a week, 624 cans a year. So, in 17 years that's about 10,608 cans. WOW, that's a lot of snuff! Dang if I know where all the money I saved went.

Y'all deserve a great big congratulations! Lung cancer took my mother in law a couple of years ago and I can promise you she would have put those cigarettes down 100 times if she could be hear to see her children and grandchildren.

All you smoke/dip quitters - Are you still on the wagon?
I've been dip and cigar free for just under a year now with no cheats. I quit cold turkey and never vaped or used Chantix. I still have moments that I feel like I just quit yesterday and could start again without missing a beat. I do feel physically better, but damn I miss a good cigar! Approaching 9 months and honestly haven't missed cigs at all. Haven't thought about until I seen this thread.

It's slowly getting worse everyday. Don't know why I ever picked a can back up after three years. But this thread was a much needed sign so this afternoon I spit a dip out and said that's it, gotta quit before it gets to where I can't. So thanks for the post
