Instructions for using Imgur on an Apple iPhone:

1. The first step is to download the imgur app. Find it in the App Store by searching for "imgur".




2. The following app will be installed on your device.




3. Once you have successfully installed the app, you will need to create an Imgur account.


4. Open the app and sign in to your account. When setting up the app, be sure to allow access to your phone's photos. Then click on the camera shaped button on the bottom of the screen...




5. After clicking on the camera button, you will be given the option to use existing photos from the phone or take a new photo using the camera. Once you decide which image you want, click on it, then click 'next' on the top right of the screen...




6. After clicking 'next', you will be required to give the post/picture a title. Usually something simple works just fine. After giving the post/picture a title, click on the green 'post' button on the top right of the screen....
(Note: If you wish others to see your image, you must set the visibility 'public')




7. After clicking on the green 'post' button, you will be redirected to your account's home screen where you will see the image that you just posted. From here you will click on the image (as outlined by the red box)....




8. Once you click on the single (one at a time) image (the image will be enlarged) you will be brought to a screen of the single image with an upload button in the bottom of the screen (it looks like a circular button with a box with an upward arrow on top of it). Click the upload button. Once you click the upload button your phone will give you the option/button to 'copy link'....





FORGET "1" IN THIS IMAGE AND ASSUME "2" IS THE ONLY POINTER



9. Once you have clicked on the 'copy link' button, you now have the image url ready to paste. The next step will be inserting the image to an Aldeer post or reply. You will need to enter the 'full reply menu/screen' (not the quick reply) to post the image. Click on the 'enter an image' button, then click 'insert a center floating image', then paste the copied link into that dialog box....







10. Your image will appear as a url in your post.

Bam.

For iPhone: Open app and mash the person logo at right bottom



Mash camera button at bottom center



Select photo you wish to upload



Type in title of photo and select "Only Me" in the drop down menu where it says "public"
Then hit the upload button at top right



Once the pic shows up, click on it



Once the pic enlarges, click on it again



Mash the button at the bottom center



Select copy link



Go to the post box on AlDeer and mash the pic button



Select insert a center floating image. Delete the http//: in the box and paste the link here. Then hit ok then post

Has anybody posted the idiot proof instructions on how to post pictures with a desktop computer yet?

Still doesn't work

Be sure to delete the "http://" in the dialog box where you are supposed to paste the link you copied from imgur. The copied link already contains the needed "http://".

I need to figure out how to use imugur without the public seeing and commenting on it. I posted a picture of my 4 year old granddaughter with some fireworks I bought her and some idot was going off on how I was irresponsible. If I had time to figure out how to respond I was gonna post a picture of her holding my AR15.

On the app, when you post there's a box you can open and select private.
