I received some great advice from you all with selecting a scope and was hoping to see which of the following mounts you guys would select.

I am outfitting a Ruger American .270 with a 50mm scope. My research to this point says that in all likelihood I will need a set of high rings, though some seem to get by with mediums and 50mm scopes. I am open to input here as well!

I am looking for durability and ease of installation mostly. Based on things I have read and been told, I landed on the two choices below. I would love to hear which one you would choose and why, and I am completely open to additional suggestions. Pretty much ready to pull the trigger on these as I want to get the gun set up since I will have some time next week to get it sighted in.

DNZ 1 piece high rings - $50

Burris Signature Zee rings High - $40

Thanks y'all!

DNZ from those two choices...... but Talley LW's are my favorite.

I used to have DNZ's on every rifle I owned until me and the owner went 12rounds in an email battle over one of his licensed retailers re-selling used mounts in previously opened packaging. Having said that, I can't argue with fact that they make some of the best scope mounts available.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I'm not a scope guru and typical use Leupold rings and bases. I have one DNZ mount. I have no problems with it. BUT the integrity of the owner mentioned below somewhat bothers me. Assuming he was defending his retailer but that's for another topic and not to high jack his thread

Burris all the way because they aren't fugly like DNZ.

DNZ is like having see through Rings on a 7400.

You need more self esteem than that. Instead of trying for the hot chick you are taking her fat friend home telling yerself, self....you can just turn off the lights it won't matter. Because it was easier?

I believe in you that you will make the right choice here. Don't fall for this DNZ dribble. You need something with class. Something hotter than a 2 dollar pistol. You need Burris Signatures.

grin

Tell us how you really feel Goat!! I use Talley lightweights when I'm concerned about weight. The Talley steel based and rings are purdy but $$$ JMHO

I like the Burris Signature Zee with Warne steel bases. You might be OK with Medium if it is a 30mm tube. You can always call the manufacturer.
