I had no idea that he had passed, nor that he was that close to that age. I fished South LA (Cocodrie, Fourchon, Golden Meadow, Grand Isle) regularly through about 2010 and he was still going strong at that time. Hate to hear of his passing.

I had never even heard of a lunker lure until about 1992. Someone gave me a black one to try on a farm pond along with the first plastic crawfish I had ever seen. I caught my two personal largest LM that day (both a little over 8 and from the same hole in the weeds) on the crawfish and about 40 from 4 ounces to 4 pounds on that lunker lure.

I lost one as large as the two massive ones I caught. This was on top of straight mountain near Springville.
