Y'all guys helped me replace my solenoid a few months ago. Let's see what y'all can do now...
My thermostat went blank this evening. It is a Honeywell digital but not wifi. It didn't have any batteries but I stuck some in there. Display came on and I can hear it trying to click on but nothing happens.
If I take the batteries out, the display goes dead.
I flipped all breakers. No dice.
I tried to jump the fan with instructions from a YouTube video. No dice.
I sucked the water line dry. Still not working.
Any other ideas before I call The Man?

Call the man and spend a little quality time with your checkbook before he gets there.

Your dropping the 24volt feed somewhere. Is it a package unit or split system? The 24volt comes from a transformer either in the package unit or the air handler. Sounds like the 24volt transformer has gone out. If you are electrically inclined, its really not a hard fix.

Found the problem!
My drain line had backed up and triggered the float shut off switch. I've cleared the line and she is blowing again. Fantastic!! you will end up being a good AC man!!

Saved yourself about $3,000. 3k to clear a stopped up drain line?? No, from a dishonest A/C guy telling you need a new system while you are sweating in 100-degree heat.
