Has got em! 50th place weighed 18lb today! There are lots of places I want to fish in that area. I'd like to go for a month or so after I retire.

That would be a dream trip.

I have always heard you need to go around June 1st right when the season opens and you can catch 4-5# smallies all day.

I have fished the 1,000 Island area several times. It is Awesome to say the least. Nothing like fishing and having a tanker from Lake Ontario headed out to sea cruse by or watcing 5lb smallies comming up from the bottom in 20 feet of water to hit a top water thumbup

Also the biggest waves I have ever driven through in a bass boat was in Ontario. Go down in a trough then gun it to climb to the top, couldn't see land either.

Those boat Captains from up there really know how to drive a boat. I was with one on Santee one day when a hurricane came ashore. There were waves bigger than 12'. There are channel markers on telephone poles that extended 12 ft above the water and they went completely under. He knew that the proper speed is the most important factor. A whole bunch of boats got torn up that day. Windshields and trolling motors ripped off by spearing waves. The water is so dangerous and speed used unwisely compounds the danger.

Nephew, Randy's son.

Kevin always said Randy would have been super on the tours had he turned pro. Instead, he had a family and the sports/boat biz up there so he didn't hit the road.

Hard to believe clouds hurt fishing unless it was pad fishing. Clouds and wind mean spinnerbait bite in most places.
