Highly recommend going to see this movie. Very intense movie. One of my new favorite war movies for sure. Not a bloody or gory movie either but very intense

Movie. I'm sure in IMAX it could only be better.

It was a great movie but I could have done without the Al Gore political global warming preview before the movie started.

Saw it this afternoon and am somewhat disappointed after all the hype. The special effects and cinematography were great, but at the expense of the story line. I felt like I walked in the movie half way. No build up to the events whatsoever, no character introductions. It just took off. If I didn't already know the basic history of the events, I would have been more than lost. The British accents were authentic, but didn't help understanding the plot.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I think thats why I liked it. It didn't waste time with character back story. It puts you right in the action just like you where there. If you where in fear for your life trying to stay alive in a battle i doubt anyone would stop and talk about life back home with planes flying over shooting. I don't know may just be me but I felt like i was there and thats what i liked about it.

Same here. Not alot of back story and small talk. It was different then most movies and I think that is why I liked it.

If that is your thing, good for you. I like the back stories and how the armies came to be cornered in Dunkirk. If you want to see the movie, read a little bit about Dunkirk before watching the movie.

Not sure how you could pass middle school history without knowing the basics of Dunkirk.

Simple - they don't teach much US and no European history in school anymore. Ask about MLK, LGBT, slavery, stealing from the Indians, canned sunshine on innocent Japanese civilians, women's rights, anti Vietnam War protests, the benefits of unlimited immigration, global warming, destroying the environment - there you will get an answer. I taught JROTC for fifteen years. It was abysmal how little the kids were taught. I did my best to remedy that.

FYI, the German Sixth Army that had a major role in destroying the French and British in the invasion of France was the same army destroyed at Stalingrad. Three hundred thousand went in to the battle, ninety thousand were captured. Only about ten thousand ever made it back to Germany. Those still alive were released in 1955. Chancellor Adenauer asked Stalin where the rest were. Stalin's reply was "In Siberia. And that's where they will remain".
