I don't know of anyone who keeps line class records on Alabama fish.
IGFA (International Game Fish Association) keeps line class records and tippet class(fly rod) records of all game fish fresh and salt water.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

There are two Red Eye records in Alabama and several Spot records. There are also several Smallie records. The Largemouth record is 9.3 for 10lb test on Holt. The 12lb record is a 9.5 from Jones lake.

Anyone know the state 4 lb test record, in Alabama. Not that it matter, becuase I turned her back loose. I caught a largemouth last night crappie fishing that I didn't have scales to weigh her on but she measured 28 inches and easily surpassed a 10-2 that I caught before. I'm really kicking myself for letting her go but at least someone else now has a chance at her.

I caught a 6lb pond bass on a 4lb ultra light set up a couple years ago and thought I'd never get her in.

didn't get no million dollars for sure, got a certificate from IGFA.
Wife and I held a couple dozen IGFA records over the years, some may still be records.
I had a 13# Channel Catfish on 2# tippet and wife had a 31# Blue Catfish on 8# tippet that may still stand. The 2# tippets were a pain ti tie up and broke if ya breathed on em. I broke off a LOT of fish trying to land a record on 2#.
