If you put 2 good coats of exterior mismatched paint that you can get for a fraction of the price from the paint store, on the OSB, and paint it every few years they will last forever. Make sure the roof over hangs the house by at least a foot all the way around. I have some 4x4 that have been out in the weather for 15 years.

Don't put carpet on the walls unless you like wasps and flying squirrels. Go by lowes and see it they have scrap wood for sale. You can get what you need a lot of times for pennies on the dollar.

Very little time hunting out of them. But when they are hunted, chances at a shot are very good. Why get in the woods? Some people just can't.

I can usually get returned lumber from home depot for 70% off just have to ask for it. with that you can build a nice one for under $200

The one i'm building, is for some young kids first hunts coming up. I want them to be as warm and sound proof as possible.

(I also hope to not get to those numbers, but its not looking good after corner posts, floor and roof.)

I didn't want to add up the cost of mine so I really don't know. I also built it over a few months time to spread the cost out. I'm guessing I had around $1000+ when it was all said and done. That includes 2 millennium chairs, glass deer view windows, structural screws, and treated wood and plywood, cup holders, shelves, carpeted walls, a removable 4'x6' floor mat, elevator brackets, many cans of camo spray paint...

Sometimes, I tend to go overboard on things...

I have an occasional wasp but no nest or any other critters. But if they REALLY wanted in they would get there.

One trick for that is to hang fly strips.

Inside is OSB. Over the OSB is carpet. Floors, walls, and roof are carpet. Bottom of floor joist is plywood. Stairs with rails and railing around porch

All of this trying to create an atmosphere a small child can handle a long sit. They can get in the floor and play with hotwheels, coloring book, take a nap, whatever. Also want it to be able to accommodate a wheelchair and multiple people.

Odd thing is the favorite thing of all kids is peeing off the back porch that high up.

I'd like to see a picture of one of them when you're finished if you don't mind. Just curious as I can't see myself putting all that into a shooting house. If you need my cell # to text me a pic, just shoot me a PM.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

We have OSB sided houses in 4x4 and 4x6 that have been up nearly 20 years and have a lot or years left. All but 2 are built from scrap lumber. They all have openings to shoot from but no windows. Just paint all the panels before screwing them together, use treated lumber for flooring and they'll last a long time.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Spent about $650 on my custom one i built for my father in laws property. 4'x6' on 6' legs, with Lexan plastic windows, shelves, and frame to hold the buddy heater if we actually get cold weather this year. Insulated and carpeted the whole interior. This house should not get cold this winter. Of course it was my first build, well first carpenter project. So i had a lot of waste that i could've done better on material.

Where you get freezer panels?

go talk to the bigger hvac companies in your area. they are constantly removing old freezers and installing new ones. sometimes you can get brand new panels that were made wrong for the particular freezer.
