I have a colleague that will sell me his bow tech pro 40 for $100. We are roughly the same height and build.
I have never even picked up a bow before. What would I need to do to start shooting wise? I know zero about bows (I am a xbow shooter). Oh he said the only thing I would need is a stabilizer and arrows.

First and foremost, you need to get properly measured to find out what your draw length is. Then have the bow set to your draw length if possible. The arrows you need to get will be determined on what the draw length is set at and what weight is comfortable for you to pull. Best advice I can give you is take it to your local shop and tell them you've never shot a bow and would like it set up and some tips on shooting it. You need somebody with experience there when you first attempt to shoot it.
