Thanks to squeaky to getting me in touch with a gentlemen that had some chufas about 20 mins from my camp. heres a few of the fields we planted once they finally dried out enough. I got roughly a quarter of an inch of rain on them yesterday. I have alittle under 3 acres planted total all on the interior of our property. pushed these old log landings out last summer so we didn't take up any of the deer hunters fields with chufas. I'll try and post up progress reports

Congrats on the chufas, but I can't see your pics. Looks like PB finally got around to you.

You can pay photobucket $400 or you can get on another hosting site. Pretty much everyone has been affected by it

There's several suggested on this thread. I switched to imgur and have liked it.

Here is one test plot I used my new to me JD 7100 series no-till planter to plant. The weed free side looks very good best I can tell from picture my buddy sent me. The sparse side had a healthy weed population that I had sprayed a week earlier. Those weeds were in process of dying at time of planting. I made the decision to plant into the weeds being I had a break in rain and conditions to plant. I also think I was low on seed when spilling the 30" rows on my 2nd pass. Hopefully that side will fill in a little more.

Here is a milo/bean plot on the other end of field from chufa.

Here is the planter I used. It has a fertilize hopper on it that side dresses when I'm planting. I applied exactly 250 pound of fertilizer to the acre on 15" rows.

not sure how to make them bigger, but I've had an 1 3/4inch of rain in the last 2 days on these fields. now I just need some consistent rain and sunshine and they should pop

Will they still be feeding on chufas during the Spring or are the chufas all gone by then?
