Hate to hear that. Hope you have a speedy recovery. I haven't contributed anything yet either. Normally we have coons and possums out the arse around here. Since we started this contest I've seen 3 coons and couldn't get any of them. And to top it off I caught a boar hog in one of my traps this morning and sent a pic to the landowner and he told me not to kill it, that the Mexican that works for him wanted it and wanted to kill it himself so he could do all the crap they do to boar hogs when they kill them. Shot another hog Monday afternoon and it dropped and got up and ran off into a tall grass field and never found it. Still got time to rack up some points.

Dang that sucks! Sorry to hear it and hope you have a speedy recovery.

I've had 7 sets out for 8 or 9 days now without a catch. I'll probably pull them tomorrow and reset in 2 weeks.

Patience worked! I reset this trap a couple days ago after a big rain but it'd been out 10 days without any fresh sign. Sometimes they just have to season a while before the coyotes pass through.

Hank,

What are you baiting with? i have coyotes and beaver in some corn and will try some sets next week. Saw a pup run across the field when I pulled up this morning.

Wade you've seen my bait bucket. How am I supposed to remember all those names? Lol!

I caught that coyote on a compass set with 4 different lures. I couldn't tell you what combination of lures it was if I tried.

I still use the same favorites I've been using the last 10 years. I can't remember all the names. I'll look them up tomorrow at work and make an actual list to post.

Dang Hank, sounds like I asked you what you used to catch bass on with that answer. smile

I understand though. The fact that it was a compass set tells me more that what lure to use. Beavers just got in the corn too and they have a few distinct trails going in that should make it easy for them and maybe a yoke too. Just got to get a little time to get them in now. Coyotes are getting the garden corn too. Just hope I don't catch my momma's cats. Thanks.

Wade I didn't mean anything by that other than I have some many lures that I really can't remember all the names.

My favorites=
Fox Hollow GH2 and Voodoo
Cavens Gusto and Yodel dog and Violator 7
Snareone Kryptonite
Big Sky Lures Coyote gland and Wolfers pack
Lenons Predator All call

For beaver
Dobbins backbreaker
Sweetwater flattail
Fox Hollow damn-a-dam

I don't use baits in summertime bacause of ants.

I also wouldn't bother with any beaver lure during the summer.

smile Just messing with you.

My beaver sets will simply be K9's set in trails. They have well worn trails about 80 yards from the river to the field. Ants wore me out in turkey season on any bait too.

Well I had one thrown by a deer last night! A John Deere tractor to be exact. Lol!

The K9 extreme was thrown still in the bed with a cleat track right across the middle but no damage to the trap. That's another big thumbs up to Kendall and his traps!

I'd of been more impressed if the tractor was still there in the trap.

Just got back from my 4 day trip to the club. Will be posting up pics later when I get time. Total for the weekend is 6 possums and 3 coons. Also had a yote pull out so all I got on him was hair.
