Planted a screen of EW this year. Started off, great. super germination maybe a tad of crowding but not too bad IMO. Then the rains came and came and came and they are living in water. The tops are yellowed, I've tried to dress with Nitrogen, but we got 2" the afternoon after I sewed the fert. It looks like a fail on the EW. Is there anything I can sew this late that would grow 5-8' tall by Oct/Nov for a screen?

Sunn Hemp would definitely do but I do not think it likes standing water.

Plus the deer would eat the sunn hemp.

Privet or Elaeagnus.

But both are about impossible to kill or control.

Corn might. Depending on rain and first freeze. Better plant it quick though.

Just plant Egyptian Wheat again. It should have time to get some height.
