What are your thoughts on Gus and the SEC media days? Is it JJ all over again or will the GusBus finally get traction this year?

Cautiously optimistic. Having some actual depth at quarterback and majority of other positions should go a long way. I do have more faith in the Stidham than I ever did in JJ. But as an Auburn fan, preseason optimism and end of year wondering what in the hell happened kind of go hand in hand. We shall see. 50 days fellas.

It would appear that we have the pieces to win but we'll see if they can put them together. I will be interested to see who steps up with Derek Brown and Marlon Davidson on the D line, secondary looks real stout. If Stidham is the real deal, that offense is going to be tough to beat with Pettway/Johnson running the ball. But as stated above, this may end up meaning nothing at the end of the year.

No matter the talent, don't forget that Gus is still the coach.

This is the reason Ive always thought Gus is all fluff......
He was asked "you have the exact same record as Gene Chizik, why were you given a 5th year"? His answer was same ole BS, excuses and "I really like our chances of competing for a championship this year"
At some point Gus, you HAVE to stop talking it up and produce on the field.

I think they're possibly in for a problem at QB with the continued believe Stidham is automatically the guy and publicly everyone saying Sean White can be the starter.
F'king pick a starter and be done with it. If they want to play another 2-QB rotation again then they're doomed. I think White's a tough, smart guy and don't know about Stidham.
But trying to be all suspenseful and cautious to not make someone mad and whatnot, damnation. I guess we'll find out in Week 2 at Clempsun.

He said he feels as confident as he did before the 2013 season. Let's not forget that it took a miracle play against UGA and Bama for that season to work out the way it did. They were still poorly coached that year and blew a big lead in the big game. Until he gets better at evaluating talent and working around his strengths and weaknesses, there's nothing to worry about... We've seen this movie before

If Stidham is as good as we are lead to believe, they will be good. The generally thought is the 2nd week determines their good/bad status. If the players have bought into this and they win, GREAT! But if they !ose then what does it do to them mentally. Once again as Forrest said, "Auburn with Gus is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gonna get."

Someone in the know says that the starter will be named early on after the second scrimmage, but they already know who it will be, like everyone else in America. If nothing else, it is to allow White to save a little face after all he has given to the team with his limited talent. My source's FIL was a former player that is allowed to many of the practices that are closed to the press and says there is little doubt who the starter is. As for the original question, ask me again in a few months.

Don't know what else they could do with him but hate to see him go out like this.

You can't help but pull for a guy like White, with less than all star talent but an All American heart who just hasn't been able to stay away from the injury bug. No matter what happens on the field, A guy like White will make it big in the real world one day. Butch Jones would call him the Champion of all Life Champions.

He's a poor coach and poor at talent evaluation. That being said, the 2013 team had plenty of Talent. As, you've already said, they lacked coaching. The new offensive coordinator will solve some of the dissension between HC, OC and the players, that the team has struggled with under Malzahn. Lashley leaving was by far the best thing that could have happened for the team. I think Auburn could contend this year. But beat Bama? Not likely.
Turkeys be damned.

Stidham actually has the best odds of anyone in the SEC at 15/1. Next was the running back from lsu How is that even possible? He hasn't even played 1 season. He also is prone to injury

Stidham actually has the best odds of anyone in the SEC at 15/1. Next was the running back from lsu How is that even possible? He hasn't even played 1 season. He also is prone to injury According to bovada it's not. They realeased their heisman odds this week and he's not on the list, presumably because he hasn't been named the started yet. Quoting from seccountry .com "Bo Scarborugh and Derrius Guice both have 14-to-1 odds to take home the Heisman Trophy. Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts has 16-to-1 odds while Georgia running back Chubb had 18-to-1 odds. Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald has 33-to -1 odds to bring home the award. He would be the first Mississippi State player to win the award." I'll make somebody a steak dinner bet that Stidham doesn't get invited to the Heisman ceremony..... any takers?
