Trijicon Accupoint 2.5x10x56..Had one on a 700 308 AAC-SD..Very nice scope I would really like to try the 2.5-12.5X42. It has a lot better ER at a constant 4". I haven't owned that 2.5-10X56 Accupoint but Ilya Koshkin give the Leica ERi a better low light review than the Accupoint ,though it is a lot more $$$.

If I were to look into a Trijicon it would be the battery version. The idea of a scope being worn out in 15 years at my age is not good. I believe Trijicon will replace the tritium at no charge when it goes out.

What's your budget? Minox makes an illuminated dot in the ZX5 line. That glass is every bit as good as a Zeiss Conquest. It's actually the same glass (Schott). They can b had for $550 or so.

Call Leupold while you are at it.I believe the official policy is 10 years warranty on electronics, though they very well may take care of you anyway.
I like the new Leupolds, just not the tube lengths and long taper to the objective which severely limits mounting options.
Doesn't really matter though,I don't think anyone lifetime warranties illumination except maybe Vortex and they only do so because they can replace and still make a profit after giving you two or three of their made in China crap.
You likely will want something new in 15 years anyway. There is no 15 year old scope that I prefer over the better new technology. It will be the same in 15 more years.

They don't make them anymore but if you can find a Burris Euro Diamond they made an awesome scope with the illuminated dot reticle. I picked one up in a trade with 257 on here and it quickly became one of my favorite scopes I've owned. They pop up on ebay every so often for around $500 used
