Sounds good, but I might pick a Trijicon 1-6 or Swaro Z6 1-6 or 1.7-10 illuminated. Nothing wrong with the S&B though. I like the trijicon but I don't think it would look right on that style rifle. If I do this I want a pure classic look. Maybe a Swarovski Habicht or a Zeiss?

I used to shoot a 9.3X72R, killed several deer with it. Seems like it launched a 196gr flat nose bullet at around 2000fps. Not as strong as the 9.3X62 or the 9.3X74

You must be hunting the great elusive cald.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Correct on both accounts. I have 5 of the Habichts and they are every bit as good as a current Z5. Plus with their warranty you can have one completely gone through and repaired for the price of shipping.

Thought about building or buying one a few times but decided to go with a 35 Whelen and haven't regretted it. From deer to bison I have taken lots of game with the Whelen over the years. A 225 grain TSX at 2650 fps is a good thing. To date my longest one shot kill with it was a measured 276 yards.
Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.
Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.
Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

Other that that,I would be fine with one. I think some of the older glass was better before the "lead free" deal started. Sometimes I think the "lead free" was an ploy to use less expensive glass with the excuse of being environmentally friendly.

I had a Ruger African in 9.3x62. It was a cool rifle and great caliber.
I wish I still had it but I let a friend talk me out of it.

If youre looking to do a build check out Simpson LTD. They have a good stock of Husqvarna rifles and priced very reasonably to do a build from. I've bought several from them and the Husqvarna actions are one of the best, strongest actions to build from that I know of
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

I had a Ruger #1 in this. Never kilt anything with it. It has a cool factor but I wouldn't spend a bunch of money on a build in this caliber very hard to get it back if decide you don't love it any longer.

Always wanted a CZ in this caliber.
