We will have been together a bunch of years and married ten on this coming Tuesday.

Suggestions would be most appreciated. Budget is pretty much unlimited (I'm not buying her a yacht) but I'm a cheap asshole according to Leroy - lol.

He is not mistaken - he's known us for a bit.

Will she be coming back to T-town or are you going to FL?

Need more details...are you looking for something just for her or for the both of you?

For both of you:
a couples massage
weekend getaway (maybe to St. Augustine if you are going to FL)
tickets for a Christmas break cruise or vacation

Just for her:
jewelry
a new computer for her PhD work
a gift certificate for a day at the spa with all the works

Is there anyone she hasn't seen in awhile and misses? Maybe you could arrange travel for that person to visit her.

You could also take any of these ideas and combine them into something bigger...like a weekend get away somewhere that you can get a couples massage, her a day at the spa and you could have dinner at an upscale restaurant where you present her with some special piece of jewelry.

Not knowing either of you in person makes it a little more difficult to make good suggestions here.

We've got 5 more years, but we've said that we're going to Disney World for our 10 year anniversary. I've never been, she has

A 3 day weekend Charleston SC trip is what we did. We were talking about it the other day and I think it's getting to be time I take her back there again.

Like TexasHuntress said, women love a spa treatment. It's probably the best $100 you can spend on her.

I will going down to Tally, the work load there is more than she's used to so she's asked me not to bring furniture and household stuff down until she gets used to it.

Leaving tomorrow at 11:00 and coming back Tuesday at lunch.

I was thinking for her, not for me, I have everything I need and almost everything I ever wanted. Besides, she really wouldn't want an HK mp5.

She fishes but only if someone will bait her hook and take the fish off for her. I bought her a pink spinning combo last year and she loves it.

I just bought her a smart tv, a cable modem and a wireless router she doesn't know about yet. Tally has faster internet service than is offered in Tuscaloosa so I had to upgrade to support it.

I think a new computer would be cool. I just bought her one a few months ago to take down there but she gave it to Geno Jr. because his broke down.

Sorry, missed that it is next week. Thought this was a longer term planning thing.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. grin

I got her an HP Desktop - 3.3 gh Core i3 3rd Gen with 8 GB DDR3, 2 TB HDD and Windows 10 Pro - and two matching 19" hp screens.

I spoke with Geno Jr. just now and she told him she was wanting a desktop with a dual screen setup. I forgot she had asked how hard it was to set up a two screen configuration about three months ago.

How on earth are we supposed to get a hint from that and then how on earth are we supposed to remember it for that long??? Dang wimminz.

Edit: She may be onto something with the tell the kid thing. That's a very good idea.

Excellent idea to buy the computer she wants/needs. She will appreciate that.

Now, do something fun. Go to Appalachicola or find a B&B getaway. Drop a couple hundred more on a spa day - mani/pedi, massage, whatever she likes. Head over to Bienville Plantation for a couple of days of flippin' grass mats with big jigs and worms all day for bass.

You're pretty close. thumbup

I'm taking her down to Apalachicola for something to eat, a spa that her advisor recommended for mani/pedi, hair, pampering. On another day I'm going to try to catch a few reds or trout. Probably at Mashes Sands as it's the closest to her house and if I can catch them there, I won't have to travel very far. I hear it's hard to fish but I bet they haven't tried to catch bass in Lake Tuscaloosa or Inland.

She is in the house now wondering what the hell else she needs for wifi. I told her three parts would be delivered and not to let 'em sit out on the porch for any length of time.

Her tv is out for delivery so it will be there in the next few hours at the latest.
