That's cool.
My wife and bought a long haired black and tan when we were first married. He actually made one of our family portraits. He was with us 14 years and I still miss him. He was the grittiest for size dog I ever had.

We have one also, not sure why they love to be under blankets. Instincts. They were bred to go in burrows and root out badgers so they tend to be comfortable in burrows (or under blankets in our cases) and they are fearless when confronting an enemy.

I bought my daughter a Shih Tzu puppy a few months back because I wanted a dog that didn't shed. She is a decent dog but crazy as a sprayed roach. The smartest and best dog I ever had was a silver dapple mini dachshund but I couldn't stand dog hair all over everything.

Only dog I have ever owned that would bite the crap out of you without provocation was a dang weiner dog. I kept a wire muzzle next to the door and every time we had company I had to put it on him. Lived to be 17. Mine was cranky the older he got, you didn't want a kid pulling his tail for sure.
