Was it Alabama that they flagged him for excessive celebration on close to the first play of the game in order "to send a message"? That one was pure BS. Then there was the one where he was blocked to the ground and his helmet hit the GA qb in the shin. I don't think he was flagged for that but the dawgs cried like little whipped puppies over it because of his reputation when in reality those things happen in football. He was good, but that is not to say that he didn't play dirty ball.
if he would have played in the 70s,80s,and maybe even in the 90s I am not sure if anyone would have even raised an eyebrow at the way he plays but today, well let's just say times have changed.

Agree wholeheartedly. Butkus made Fairley look like Nick was playing flag football. Otis Sistrunk would be suspended for targeting on every single play that came his way. Different game now. No need to even mention Ronnie Lott.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I play a flute apparently,... but a lot of those guys are eating through a straw and don't know their names now.

I think that's the main purpose of the rule changes

I don't think anyone was saying that the changes weren't needed, but there is no denying that the game is different now.

Murray needed to get his thumb out of his ass. If he didn't want to play he should have hauled ass to the sidelines. It was a live play and a 100% legal hit.

Classic case of the dog catching the bus. Threw a pick and was half butt jogging toward the play, he therefore got blocked. If he wanted to make a play he should have sprinted into it. If he didn't want to, he should have stood where he was when he threw it. Perfectly legal hit.

Austin Shephard hit on Deanglo Blackson at the end of the kick six play as Davis goes into end zone. It happens to every team. I don't care to much about Ga as under Marc Richt they were one of the dirtiest playing teams other than FSU under Bowden.
