He did fine. 4 innings, 80 pitches, 5 hits, 3bb's, 7 k's. Team was #29 team in nation. Velo (85-87)wasn't where it was (90)...and it fell off fairly quickly. He needs to pitch more often. Jlbuc...he's going to wallace state hanceville. Coach Putman saw something in him his hs coach didnt, i guess. He signed him as a pitcher.

My recommendation is to let the velo come with age and size and work on pitchability. gman's boy has already got the size.
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!

Ha, yep. Cant wait to see what coach Putman is able to do with him.  He hit 90 last year, just didn't see the mound much. Gonna be interesting to see him go thru a fall of baseball, instead of football.

Congrats on his commitment! A kid I coached Austin Triplett played there the last 2 years. That's a lot of pitches for that long of a lay off. I bet he was whooped. I was 88-90 in HS, and gained a couple as I grew into my body and by 21 I was 89-92. I was always too worried about my velo. My recommendation is to let the velo come with age and size and work on pitchability. If I had to go back I'd learn a cutter or splitter. I grew up with Austin's dad and mom, Ted and Lucy Jean. He has done well.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Gman will he be playing at Wallace this coming season? that is the plan. He is shut down from pitching now...just tossing and long toss now and working out when i can keep him off the creek.
