A friend of mine was asking about the safety of using Gly around water lines and faucets. As far as I can tell the stuff is suppose to be safe to use as a alternate to a lot of weed eating. Any other opinions?

I would think it would be fine. Gly is all I use. From what I understand it's basically salt.

There are some studies now linking it to cancer, but around waterlines is fine, and just being a little careful around faucets should remove any risk.
