Well it's not a whole lot yet but a couple of great friends of mine and myself have officially started Slate Creek cattle company just outside of Oakman. We've started off with just three young ones hoping to buy more very soon. Two of them are F1's (black Angus/waygu cross) and the third is a full blooded waygu (produces Kobe beef). I'd post some pics but me and photo bucket don't get along too well lol. If someone wouldn't mind letting me text some pics of what we have so far and post them for me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks! My family has always had them, but we've recently branched off and started our own thing - advantages are everywhere from bloodline swapping with bulls to developing new types of crosses that benefit everyone

Awesome you have the benefit of knowledge and being able to draw from others.

My maternal grandfather bought and sold cattle when he was alive. One of my fondest memories from childhood was going to the cattle barns with him and feeding calves by bottle. I will never forget that big black nipple came off a bottle I was holding for a calf one day and milk went everywhere on me...it pulled me down and those calves were licking me from head to toe!! Papa was laughing so hard he could not help me up...great stuff!!!

Maggie that's exactly right - there's been several that's been able to teach me along the way and I bet that was funny seeing all that when u were feeding those calves for sure lol. There's plenty of good stories of us working cows. Great memories though. Furflyin I sent you a pm bud.
