Shipped my 3 bearded Rio to Blackwing Turkeys and just got a message from Mike that it arrived safe and in great condition. Nerve racking couple of days tracking that shipment lol. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

You will be happy I promise. He does extraordinary work. You should get him back next mar-apr time frame. Mine was done right at the beginning of March but he took mine to a couple shows. He is a Dr and up guy and will do an awesome job.

I've got a Merriam I need to send him. I was gonna send it from Idaho, but 2 day guaranteed was gonna cost $225 just to ship

Like Clark said I'm expecting to get it back in march. Foldemup $225 is expensive. Can you pack it in dry ice and send 3 days for a little cheaper. I just sent mine frozen wrapped in a trash bag with bubble wrap around it. It was 2 day and he got it and it was still half froze.

I was in Idaho hunting when I was going to send it. Not sure about the dry ice stuff, but probably could have. I just brought it home instead as an extra bag on the plane. I've mailed him 2 before at the same time 2 days from Huntsville and it was around $50. I just pick it up in person next spring when I go hunting down there.

That's cool. I'm in Huntsville also my shipping was the same. I think return shipping will be around 75$.

It should be done. He stays on top of them pretty good. Just give me a heads up because I'll forget about it before then. I will definitely see him next March to pick 2 of mine up after I'm done hunting.

I'm hoping to go down there this year to kill my Osceola. Hopefully I'll be dropping him one off.

Buckbrush,

I've seen Blackwing Taxidermy on Facebook and he does outstanding work. I wound up sending that double beard my wife killed to Blake Wilson up in your neck of the woods. I didn't want to pay that crazy shipping.

I've seen some of his ducks. Very talented.

Shipping ain't that bad I was more worried about it getting there in good condition. Now the hard part waiting for the bird but I figure it will get me fired up getting it right at the beginning of next season.

I wouldn't worry about the shipping condition. He personally builds a crate to keep it safe. He told me he has only had one bad shipping experience with damage and he personally drove to MS to the guy's house to repair the mount. It was an issue with the paint on the head sticking to whatever it was wrapped up in. I know it's true, because it was my best friend it happened to.
