I shoot an old PSE Nova (very inexpensive bow). I use a Cobra release. I have a string loop, the rubber silencers on the string, Limb Savers, and stabilizer. I've been shooting alot lately and notice that my bow is LOUD. It is as if the string is making a loud plucking noise upon release. What do I need to do to quiet my bow?

I borrowed a Nova from a buddy while I was between bows and it WAS loud. He had the string balls AND a couple limbsavers on it..still loud.
I agree, upgrade.

Have you checked to see if the limbs have a crack in them?

I've been shooting alot lately and notice that my bow is LOUD. What do I need to do to quiet my bow? Is it getting louder than when you 1st started? Something maybe vibrating loose. If it was already loud, shoot a heavier arrow. I don't worry too much about noise though. They can still hear it and react no matter what you do.

Here's a few things to look at: -Make sure all bolts are tight on the sight, rest, cable guard, etc. -Stabilizer is tightened down all the way -check your cams (hit the cam/top of limb with your palm), maybe a loose bearing -tuning - is the bow in tune? Cam timing sync, ATA, Brace Height, draw weight, etc... -make sure arrow points are screwed in all the way
If it isn't any of these, you can add limbsavers, new string dampners, STS or similar string stop, or change stabilizers and see if that helps. Good luck

First make sure every screw or bolt is tight. The Sims limb-savers are great, string whiskers, and a heavier arrow all help.
And I disagree about bow noise. You can't get a bow where they can't hear it but you can lessen the degree to which it startles them. If it's loud enough that it really scares a deer at the shot then they can duck a good bit on even a very fast bow. If your bow makes just enough noise that they just sort of pause like, "what was that" it's all over for their @$$ if your aim is true.

I agree Todd. You might even get a second shot if needed.

My old PSE Fireflight was much quieter after I put padded moleskin under the limbs, inside the limb pocket. Of course, you've got to take the limbs off to put it on. That old FF was very, very quiet. On those old bows, the closer to the maximum weight you have the bow set, the quieter it will be. Make sure the cable guard is tight. I think those threaded in.

Thank you for the responses. If I had the funds I would upgrade. I will check all that was suggested that I check. I am shooting aluminum Easton arrows. Either 2314 or 2413 I'm at work & can't remember, but they are big as spears. All the broadheads are tight as can be. Again, Thank you.

I used to have a older PSE.
I was shooting on day and it got louder on me. It ended up being the limbs.
