I was watching this silly repo show on Discovery, and they were repossesing a plane that was full of "smuggled" snakes. Just one of those things I guess I've never thought of, but how much money do these people make smuggling animals like snakes? Who is buying them? Just seemed weird that they would have the money to afford a smuggling operation including planes for something most people avoid at all costs.

These are the same kind of people responsible for all the huge snakes destroying the ecosystem in South Florida. They obtain these sweet pets, but when they grow too big to manage they turn them loose. I see opportunities for Deadwood tho! Think of how many high dollar belts or boots that can be made from a 20'+ Python or Anaconda.

I remember several years back when taking my Hunter Ed safety course, a biologist for the state of Alabama gave one of the talks about conservation. He got on the subject of exotic animals and how recently he had been called to Jasper to a drug dealers house (who had been arrested). Guy had a Bengal Tiger in a cage at his house.

Many years ago I spent some time with a guy who worked undercover and said people would lose their minds if they knew some of the animals that were in Alabama and the Southeast.
