Hey fellas. I have 250 cases prepped and primed ready to be topped with some various bullets. Have not been able to find much load data to make some 220g subsonic rounds. Out of my 3 manuals, only Speer has some info.
Any of you guys have any luck finding any data?

The tenth edition of the Hornady reloading handbook has data for loading 225 gr bullets in 300 Blackout. This information should be good for 220 gr. bullets.

Are you loading for an AR or a bolt gun?

Should have mentioned that....sorry. AR.
I'm fiddling with 12.1 g of that new Hogden CFEBLK powder. Man that stuff is fine...like sand. Sure easy to measure.

New problem....The seating stem that comes with Hornady dies will not seat the ELD-X bullets properly. Hornady sells a separate stem. Without it, I could not get the projectiles to seat deep enough to achieve an acceptable COL.

What I have learned with the BLK in AR's: They are very finicky about cycling subsonics. In a 16" with carbine gas the go-to powder has been A1680, with A5744 a close second. I have not tried the new CFEBLK powder, but with that name I would hope it is designed to work in ARs. With heavy bullets, in general you will need to be around 10 grains; A1680 takes a little more, A5744 a little less. The only 220 grain I have tried is a H 220 gr. RN: 11.3 of 1680 gets 1000 fps, and 9.8 grs of 5744 gets the same out of a 16". I have loaded the AMAX 208's which may be closer to the ELD 220. 10.8 gr of 1680 gets 1025 fps in the 16".
do not try these heavy bullets with any rifling slower than 1:8; 1:7 for any heavier than 220.

With subsonics you need to start load development on the high side and work down to avoid sticking a bullet. If you do not have a chrono, just listen and you will know when you get subsonic.

If you have a pistol length gas system, then try H110 or Imr 4227. Both work very well with heavy bullets for subs and light, 110, 120, and 125 grain bullets for supersonic hunting loads.

The little Loadbooks USA One Book/One Caliber for 300 BLK will give you many more loads. And it has many company's powders and many bullets. A few bucks from MidWay.

Great info. Thanks! I do have a pistol length tube. May try some H110 as I have plenty of that as well.
Was wondering about the chanced of sticking a bullet. Has that happened to any of you guys?

FYI: we are having no issues when seating time of EOD and ELD-X bullets ranging from 223 up to 30 cal when using Lee dies. Just figured I'd mention that since I saw you had trouble

I've only stuck one, when I was first starting with subsonic loads and working up a .308 load. Using Red Dot and 220 grain bullets, I loaded the test groups at 14, 12, 10 and 8 grains of powder and started high as mentioned. Worked great - got 1300 fps, then 1150, then 950 with 10 grains and that's where I should have stopped. But they were sitting there, loaded... The first two made it out of the barrel at 550 fps, the last one not so much. It sounded odd enough, and I didn't hear the bullet hit so I checked the barrel and the bullet was right at the muzzle. oops.

Hornady, Lyman, and Barnes books are pretty good for 300blk data. One of the best sources is the Hogdon website and it's free. Click link below.
