Sorry if this has been posted before but I heard an old turkey joke the other day.
A bird starts gobbling near an old cemetery which attracts the attention of two different turkey hunters. Both hustle to get set up on the bird but hunter number 1 gets in place first. He sets up on the bird right near the little dirt road that leads into the cemetery. He starts calling and soon has the bird headed his way. Just as the bird comes into view on the other side of the road here comes a funeral procession up the little cemetery road. As the hunter watches the cars file past he slowly stands; takes his hat off and holds it over his heart until all the cars have passed. By then the turkey is long gone but the second hunter having seen the whole thing comes walking up the road. He stops in the road near the first hunter and says, "Sir, I just wanted to tell you that was a very selfless and honorable thing you just did." "Well", Said the first hunter, "It's the least I could do. I was married to her for 27 years."
The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back. - Abigail van Buren
