I agree. No excuse. People wont admit it but Auburn doing well puts more emphasis on Alabamas coach and Alabama doing well puts more emphasis on Auburns coach.

It wasn't just about W/L's.....the guy was a grade A jackass and his players pretty much gave up on him. treated his players and alumni like crap and "pulled" several scholarships that, by NCAA rule, he had no right to pull. If it were just the W/L record, he'd have been given at least another year.

They need to AT LEAST give Jack Leggett an interview. Just me but I always liked the guy.

I wish they would give Butch Hobson a chance.

Seriously, you just described Galloway's tenure at AU perfectly.

And while players shouldn't run the show, when the discord grows to the point that players can't stand the coach or playing for him or it becomes un-fun and a grind, and fans don't show up, and boosters start questioning things, and in the case of AU they find what might look like niggling violations but are violations nonetheless that could lead to the thought of "I got away with that, what about this?", and along with a poor record, then it's time to make a change.

Good for Bama. They've had strong baseball teams in the past and there is ZERO reason IMO they shouldn't be strong each year. Same with Auburn. I know things go in cycles but holy crap, they have facilities, the SEC, they're not traveling in broken-down buses, and there's good talent in the Southeast and elsewhere.

Hope the find a good guy who can right the SS Bammer and get it sailing on course again.

Hate to hear that. A good friend of mine that I played college ball with was his assistant, Derek Simmons. Y'all would do well hiring him as the head coach. Started as recruiting coordinator at Kennesaw State a program that just turned d-1. His third year there he had 6 players drafted 2 first rounders, and they went to a super regional. Actually I hope Auburn hires him now, he's actually a huge auburn fan his daddy played basketball for AU.

Between Goff&Golloway hopefully next coach won't be named with a G. Whoever they get will hopefully develop arms on the mound and defenders first.

I was glad Galloway got gone. Goff was going to pull 10 scholarships, they wouldn't have had a team left. Both treated players like crap.

Really wish Alabama would go get Casey Dunn. I know he is a Auburn guy but he's a dang fine coach. He's pretty much owned the state of AL over the last couple of years in D1 baseball with a limited 11 scholarships and at a school that cost $30k a year to attend. And most importantly He knows how to recruit the South.

Better check again, it costs more than $30k to attend Samford. That's tuition only, no books, meals, housing. More like around $45K all in. He's done really well. He'd be an upgrade for sure at Bama

Casey Dunn appears to be a good coach and good guy. Would have a strong supporting cast not on the payroll such as his dad. But this is the Big Boys and my response would be "we will see." Reality is they are going to hire someone where my response will be "WTF?"

I believe his dad,Sammy, passed away a few years ago. Casey would be a good choice.
