This is what I have told my grandson in 13-15 rec ball and travel ball both. "Swing the dang bat", be aggressive at the plate. I put a bat bounty in place to entice him to be aggressive at the plate and swing the bat--$5.00/single, $10.00/double, $15.00/triple, and $25.00/home run. He also has to pay me $20.00 for a called 3rd strike. I am probably to blame as I have preached and preached over the years to not swing at any junk pitches.

When I was in high school, our coach hated someone being called out on a taken third strike. He always said when a pitcher has two strikes on you (especially on a 3-2 count), the plate grows a little wider and if it's close, you'd better be swinging the bat. Taken third strikes earned you 5 laps around the ball field. I can remember some guys swinging after the ball hit the catchers mitt just to try and avoid running. Our coach wasn't that stupid. It went down in the scorebook as a backwards K and they ran the five laps.

Was good to walk on field and hear a coach tell his team "Ok it's that guy,swing early he calls both sides black don't look to walk"

16 regional hosts (top 16 seeds) won all 16 regionals.

13 of 16 went 3-0 to win host regional.

Only 2 (LSU and Oklahoma) had to come out of the losers bracket and force the seventh game, and one (Florida) was pushed to game 7 after waiting on the losers bracket survivor.

I guess the selection committee got it right but it's hard to belive Minnestota with the number 1 ranking in the coaches poll didn't deserve to host a regional, I think they were something like 55-3 this year

Deductive reasoning says around Tuscaloosa. How did I come to that?? They only teach football in Tuscaloosa. Sometimes they'll even travel as far as Knoxville to teach people the game of football. Slow learners there though.

^^they may be slow learners, but they are Life Champions and no one can ever take that away from them. I take that back, if Saban wanted to take that from the Vols, it would be gone as well

Ole Miss game is a goodun

Ole miss has good looking players. Unlike some of the other teams that have girls 6'2" 250.

Couple of thoughts...

257 is right, Ole Miss had some good looking girls - although it's OM, so that's to be expected.

Softball would be SO MUCH more watchable, if they'd outlaw all the changing/singing (they sound like an 8yr old rec league team), and outlaw that stupid slap hitting crap where they run 3 or 4 steps out into the field before ever hitting the ball. Also, based on my limited viewing, it seems like the pitcher and infielders have a conference after every other pitch. Speed it the hell up.

It's way faster than boring ass baseball that's for sure.

MLB has sped the game up....I believe they actually have a rule that says there can be no more than X seconds between pitches or something like that. I tried to watch college baseball a few times this year and it was awful. seemed like minutes between pitches. completely unwatchable.
