With my new overseas job, I didn't get to hunt near as much as I usually do but had one helluva time. We started in South Florida on March 6th and ended in Idaho on May 6th. I was fortunate to be able to hunt 6 states this year and got to hunt with some old friends and made some new friends along the way. I hunted a bunch this year with my old buddy Squeaky and we found a routine that worked pretty good for us. We sat together a bunch and saw 10 gobblers die and 1 run off after a dang miss. Also got to hunt with foldemup some and we had a blast. Got to share a tree with him twice and both times a gobbler got a ride in the truck. Finally met Blake Cox on our trip to Florida and got to watch him smash a beautiful Osceola. We hunted some of the prettiest woods I've ever seen in the Pacific Northwest. It was also the most physically demanding hunting that I have ever been involved in. Those mountains were absolutely grueling but we kept on getting after them and it paid off. Ended up killing 8, missing one, and watched 10 more die. I hope the good Lord is willing and let's me get after them again next year.

It was great to finally meet you Stony! You had a heck of a good season and got to hunt some beautiful places. And thanks for bringing along that scratch box to call in those 2 birds for me. I remember when you first mentioned it you said if he gobbles at that scratch box he's a dead ass....well, yep! We'll definitely take some more trips in the future. Stay safe overseas.

It may be farther from Maine to California I don't know .............. but Florida and Washington are about as far from each other as you can get and still be in the continental US. Pretty cool to start in one corner of the country and finish in another. Congrats on a great season Stony!

Lol!!! I usually hunt 30+ days during the season but only hunted 20 this year, so a short season by my standards. I didn't set foot in the Alabama woods until April 20th.

Congrats buddy on your short but eventful season thumbup

I enjoyed our trips this year, especially the time we spent hunting together chasing these amazing birds from one side of the country to the other. I look forward to planning our trips for 2018 buddy thumbup
