13 Bridges Rd was way out Vaughn Rd. All of it is behind gates now since the property got bought several years ago. I used to spend some Friday and Saturday nights out there.

Woodley 7 bridges is from just past virginia loop to almost to Trotman Road. I think it includes going further down Woodley from Trotman as there aren't 7 bridges between Virginia Loop and Trotman. I never counted 7 going until going a few miles south of Gibson Road. Then again the whole stretch is haunted and some of the bridges disappear when going one direction from the other. Some kind of dimensional time warp hole thing....~ 13 bridges is definitely haunted. I think it is Indian spirits or something like that.

I think the 7 one way six the other thing was back when it was dirt/gravel. The configuration of the bridges has changed. Some places appear to be bridges, but really just have guardrails. Brand new coat of asphalt right now though. Pretty drive

Per Wikipedia:
"Steve Young was inspired to write "Seven Bridges Road" during a sojourn in Montgomery, Alabama, in the early 1960s: according to Young "a group of friends...showed me [a] road [that] led out of town...After you had crossed seven bridges you found yourself out in the country on a dirt road. Spanish moss hung in the trees and there were old farms with old fences and graveyards and churches and streams. A high-bank dirt road with trees. It seemed like a Disney fantasy at times. People went there to park or get stoned or just to get away from it all. I thought my friends had made up the name 'Seven Bridges Road'. I found out later that it had been called by that name for over a hundred years. "[1]
The song's locale has been identified as Woodley Road, a rural two-lane road which runs south off East Fairview Avenue - the southern boundary of Montgomery's Cloverdale neighborhood - at Cloverdale Road, and which once featured seven bridges. Young himself never evidently endorsed this identification: however Alabaman journalist Wayne Greenhaw in his book My Heart Is in the Earth: True Stories of Alabama & Mexico (Red River Publishing/ 2001) relates how on a Sunday in springtime he accompanied Young and their friend Jimmy Evans on a drive down Woodley Road to Orion for a guitar jam session with bluesman C. P. Austin, and that it was on the return trip up Woodley Road that Young began the composition of "Seven Bridges Road". [2][3]
Jimmy Evans, then Young's room-mate and later Attorney General of Alabama, also endorses Woodley Road as being Young's inspiration: (Evans quote:) "I'd go down [Woodley Road] to Orion a lot to listen to listen to...C. P. Austin...There [were] seven wooden bridges [on Woodley] and we'd go out there a lot...I thought it was the most beautiful place around Montgomery that I'd ever seen. That road was a cavern of moss; it looked like a tunnel." [4] Evans specifically recalls the Woodley Road trip which occasioned Young's writing "Seven Bridges Road": "That night there was a full moon. We were in my Oldsmobile, and when I stopped Steve got out on the right side fender. We sat there a while, and he started writing down words." [4] Evans recalls that after beginning to write the song on Woodley Road that night, Young completed his composition at the apartment he and Evans shared in Montgomery's Capitol Heights neighborhood. [4]"

I thought it was Co. Road 2 but I'm near 100% sure that the old 13 bridges road is now Bargainer Road. Turn left just past Macon east school and there it is. We actually rode down there yesterday as we are looking for a lot or house/land to live. We got past the little neighborhood and got to the first bridge and water was running down through there like Niagara Falls. We didn't even go past the first bridge. There are some really nice homes back in there and one monstrosity of a house right before the first bridge. Damn thing must be 8000 sq. ft.
Story was that you counted 13 bridges going toward Macon county but only 12 coming back. The weeds and such really hid one of the bridges and made it dang near impossible to see heading back into Montgomery county. That part is true. Of course, many Miller Lites were consumed by the time one headed back toward Montgomery which could've made seeing one on the way back a little more challenging.
Like Bill, I spent many a night riding that road back in college. Saw some of the biggest deer I've ever seen. Saw many deer that would go 140-160. Absolute zoo out there and very little pressure. John Hall and family owned all of that land at one time but I think they have sold off a bunch of it or it's been divided among heirs. I told Janet yesterday that I could drink a beer a day for the rest of my life and not come close to the number I drank on that dirt road back in the day. Cold beer, Led Zeppelin cranked to the max and seeing deer. Life was real simple then.

John Collett (the BIL) let us hunt a couple of times on their side of the property. One of the sweetest moments of my life. He was sitting with me and used a 20ga youth shotgun with buckshot. I thought it was a doe but it turned out to be a button head. On another hunt I let a 8pt walk that would have died on any other tract but borderline on that place and I wanted to be invited back. I'd put that property up against any in the state. It may not win the gold medal but it would definitely be on the podium. Dr. B

I hunted one of the club's behind that gate a few years ago. Some of the best land in the state back there. Guy's subdivision Bill is called Johnson creek. John Hall owns the property to the right behind those beautiful stone entrances ( wonder who did that ) right before you get to Guy's place at the end of Barganier road. Guy has a heck of a setup down there and probably the best hunting land in the county. It's bow only too. Benji, I've got a buddy who is about to put his house on the market that's in Johnson creek. It's a beautiful home designed for a hunter. It's awesome! Also, John Hall is a good friend of mine and I'll be glad to make a phone call for you. I'll shoot you a PM tomorrow with more info. Sorry but I can't take you hunting at line creek.

Dang, we all must have gone to high school together 30 years ago. I'm just glad I never went shinning down that road when in high school. I've been shining down Woodley and Woodley Spur roads piles of times back when it was legal to do. Man I saw some bucks on those roads that would make your jaws drop.

Well guess I won't be going down 13 bridges road if it's closed off now Yep, it's closed. Was some good hunting.........still is. There was a club called Cross Keys that leased around 15,000 acres. Lots of swamp. You can still go down parts of the 13 bridge road.

Here it's listed as 2. That's not what I have always considered County road 2.. County 2 runs roughly from Hardaway to Hurtsboro
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Cross+Keys,+Alabama+36039/@32.3337525,-85.9020441,2670m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x888c4aff6989fdc7:0x549be5d648d10c02!8m2!3d32.3337525!4d-85.8932894 that road is called CR2 for a couple hundred yards on the map, also listed as "macon county road" on road sign, then turns into CR4 when it goes over "Old Town creek", which apparently quits being "Line Creek" at some point. very confusing I agree with you,,... THE CR2 starts on 80, goes down through cross keys as dirt, turns to pavement before downtown hardaway, then goes east through fort davis and into hurtsboro.

I had a sick baby that wasn't happy unless riding around yesterday, we did the whole Barganier Road, Judkins Road, Flowers Road, Mathews Road tour for about 2 hours.
"Johnson Creek" neighborhood must be the couple of houses before the "Line Creek Plantation" neighborhood. The gates were open to it, but it said private drive so I didn't mess with it.
There is another one called "Cecil Farms" or something that Hall/Collett have listed, all 10-15 acre lots, some sold, but nothing built.

We loved it. 11 acres, pool, studio apartment attached to the house and really nice. Only problem is that it backs up to where they are building that new Pike Road Jr. High. For a young family it would probably be good but that was a deal breaker for us. Dr. B

I have seen some of the nice buck pics that Okfuski has posted over the years, but I have never seen any of the bucks from the other side of Line Creek like on the Hall side.
I have always wondered what the antler traits and types were over there but have never seen anything from that area.
