Big game today for Bama's girls. Playing Minnesota (55-3) today. They're #1 in Coaches poll but unseeded by NCAA in tournament.

How is that? The ball has to be in the glove if the tag is applied with the glove. When the tag was applied with the ball to the runners face, she had touched the plate.

Disagree. She tagged with glove and bare hand with ball. Both hands. Well aware the ball has to be in the glove if tagged with the glove. Everybody knows that. Did I see the replays wrong?

Been some really good games today... Pulling for North Dakota st. to pull off the upset against Ok...

The way I saw it on replay was the ball was held against the backside of the glove and did not touch the runner until it hit her in the face. Held against back side of glove=not in glove. Either way, it was such a bang, bang play, I don't think you could argue much however it was called. Just glad one went our way this time. It seems like most of them go the other way.

I'll also add that I only saw the replay a couple of times and didn't watch it frame by frame like in a MLB review, so I certainly could be wrong. I also admit that if I were the ump making that call, I probably would have called her out without having the replay benefit.

As i look at the auburn tag play with crimson colored glasses...safe. Catcher didn't have control of ball thus juggle signal by plate umpire was correct.

Look, I'm glad for the win. To me, she had control with her bare hand when tag was made. As long as the ball was in her hand, in plain sight, the ump was thinking she was juggling and didn't have control. To me, she did.

Home plate Ump called a ball 4 or what appeared to be a strike. He called a real tight strike zone against Minnesota the whole game.

I saw the replay and heard the announcer say "It looks like Minnesota just lost the game on strike two" or something very similar to that. That is ignorant to say because those bases got loaded some way or another to set up the one bad pitch call. However those bases became full and the three pitches called balls prior to this one pitch is why Minnesota lost.

Another example of inconsistent balls/strike calls in softball.

The way the bases got loaded was when the ump said runyun got hit...The replay showed she didn't....

Coached softball a long time. Always told the kids and parents if you don't want the umpires to decide the game, don't let them. There were lots of pitches before that one.

Swing the dang bat! No body came to the game to watch an umpire, unless their mother shows up to see her baby work. Then we have different issues to address. Don't let him/her be the focus. Once again, if it is close, swing the bat!

This is just a general statement on softball and baseball from my point of view.
