Anyone use them? I've only rigged a few on boats so I don't have too much knowledge with them. I've got a lot more experience with hummingbirds and lowrances. I can get garmin with a 35% discount through work. Was thinking about buying a down imagining unit for my flatbottom

The one I had was fantastic. Very clear display and very accurate.

I had a Garmin 93SV that was $1199 when I bought it last less than year ago. Nice unit and stupid easy to use then they got sued for copying the Humminbird SI tech and had to closeout the exsisting units as part of the agreement. Cabelas had them on closeout for $549 not too long ago. Not happy as I spent big bucks. I talked to 2 different Garmin reps and they said "yeah we had to rename the tech to SideVu but the new units are the same but different labels.

Said screw it and bought a new Helix 10 Mega and it blows any Garmin out of the water as far as maps and imaging tech. Had both and the Humminbird is hands down the better unit.

A good deal of the pro's use Garmin. I've looked at some of Garmins Screenshots and they looked impressive to me.

If I could get 35% off of any of the brands, It's the one I'd go with. I don't think the differences from one unit to another would be a big enough difference to persuade me either way.

I like my humminbirds, sometimes the images are great, sometimes I have to adjust and adjust to get it to where it's somewhat how I want it.

I looked at one I liked today. KEEP IN MIND, this is gonna go on a 16' Jon boat. I'm not gonna put a $3,000 unit on it, but I do want something to find blue cats holding to deep water structure. I found a unit that does side imaging, down imaging, dual beam sonar, and had very basic gps. Gps is really non existent but I can live without a super gps feature. I know the places I fish, just wanna pinpoint EXACTLY where I need to focus on. The unit is $500 and I can get it for $320. I looked at it tonight at cabelas and I was VERY impressed with the clarity on the di and si images. Gonna give it a try I reckon.

What model is it? $320 ain't bad, especially to get into side imaging units.

This is it Jeremy. I figured it'd work for an old flatbottom

Shoot, looks good to me. I've always liked garmin products. I figure their Fishing electronics are solid.

I get a 35% discount through my work, because yamaha does a lot with garmin. The general public isn't offered that discount . Cabelas had them for $500, but I got one for $320 off garmins website with my discount

Post up that discount code. grin

I bought my humminbirds through a guy that fished for Northeast Community College a few years ago. He got 50% off. I wish like dammit I would have bought more then just the 2 999's.
