I saw a group of 8-10 hens today with 2 jakes. I figured by this point they'd be nesting. Do they leave their nests and group up? I actually saw them all roost too. What's up with that?

Not all hens breed and nest. I don't know what the exact statistics are but I think some research has been done on nesting percentages and success rates.

It looked like deer season out there with them in flocks. No gobblers there but I guess the jakes will be next year.
