different trees will you hunt from during deer season. Don't count the ones you hunt from once and decide you need to be 50 yds away in a different tree, count both of those trees as one.

Ok, or shooting houses, or ground blinds, or patches of ground or whatever.

Probably 10-15. I usually let one of my kids pick. My son always says he's got a "feeling " about a particular stand at any moment. If nothing happens I always joke with him and say that "feeling" he had must've been gas!

Somewhere north of 30. I can't even remember where all my stands are. Ill be scouting an area and think it would be a good spot for a stand and then see a lock on I put there 2 years ago. I really need to put them on a map.

Yeah but I don't mean how many spots do you like but how many do you actually hunt. You may have a hundred stands scattered around but you can only hunt so many in a season.

I have favorite trees that are hard to get away from but I'm going to try and expand the number of spots I hunt from this year because it's public land and I never know if someone else might be in there. I've yet to find another hunter near one of my spots but I know it could happen. I'm just trying to figure out what is a manageable number. I'm using a climber exclusively and I know I'll climb some trees and once I get up there it doesn't look the same as it did from the ground or I'll see deer exiting a trail into a clearcut out of bow range so that next time I sit in a different place but nearby.
I also want to plan better. I'd like to have at least 3 or 4 spots for every set of conditions: wind direction, time of day, time of season (rut or not), bow, rifle, brush gun, etc. I thought maybe I'd have a break from hunting after turkey season but I'm realizing that I have a lot of scouting to do and a lot of limbs to trim for shooting lanes, etc. I'd rather get started while temps are still reasonable than try to do it in July/August.

Two bow hunts from that lockon, one hunt from the ground about 75 yards from it and 6 hunts in a tripod 250 yards from it for a total of 9 hunts for the whole season, all morning hunts.

Too many to count that is for sure. I have a few favorites but I have been doing more ground hunting here in the last few years.

Stands that I actually hunt "regular", is probably 14 or 15. Several are of them are close together so that I can hunt 1 area from different stands with different winds.

During bow season there is no telling how many trees depending on where the hot acorn trees are dropping. Gun season not so many. Of all the things I keep track of, the number of trees I climb in a season isn't one of them.

There are two rules for success: 1. Never tell everything you know.
