I'm wanting to get a scope for the cz 455 .22lr I got not long ago. I saw vortex has crossfire II 3x9x40 for around $150 more or less and then they have a crossfire II rimefire for around $20 cheaper. Am I missing something? Seems like the smart thing to do is buy the scope that is $20 more and use it for a .22 or any other rifle instead of just rim fire scope. Is there some special about it? I have a friend that can get me %60 off vortex so I've been a fan for that reason. Also any other scope recommendations from you guys? I've never put a scope on a .22 lr

I have not looked at the specs on either of those scopes, but the parralax on 22 scopes is usually adjusted closer than on a regular scope. Like 75 yards vs 150 or something. Rimfire scopes are usually smaller than regular scopes too and are more to scale on a small rifle.

With that being said I have never had an issue using a regular rifle scope on a 22 rifle.

Seems like you can get a good deal on a Vortex. Try to find one with adjustable parallax that will focus down to about 20 yards if possible.

Other than Vortex(I don't know enough about their bargain models to recommend them) I would recommend one of these. They have a lifetime warranty, are Japanese made and focus as close as 10 yards.

You might ask around at www.rimfirecentral.com or even find a scope in the classifieds there.
