Good area. I've got a place close so I'm interested. I'm not busting on you so this is a serious question. You said 430 acres, low pressure but you have 6 family memberships?? Are Most members from way out of state and only come a couple days a year or something like that? Thanks for the add'l info.

Out of the 5 in it now, me and another guy would be the only ones bringing a guest from time to time. In all honesty last year we had 3 guest come a total of 7 times. All members live in south Alabama 2 or more hours away and also hunt in clubs close to the house including myself. Last year we hunted it maybe 6-7 weekends.
Land owner has turkey rights.

This is the third Cedar Creek Hunting Club that I know of in Dallas County. One I think has a new name now though.

I killed my very first and second deer, both does, in downtown Minter about 35 years ago. Always been a good herd in that area.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

5-6 guys hunting 430 acres 6-7 weekends with 7 or so guest days and family thrown in is a good bit more pressure than I'm looking for. Was hoping you'd reply that you had 4 members from South Fl that hunted it just two weekends a year and that you had turkey rights. Thanks for the response. You're in a very good area and about 15 min from my other place. Best of luck with finding the guy you're looking for.

7 guest? Ok..lol. like I said though, it's very low pressure and we don't have a problem seeing or killing deer. Thanks for your interest and good luck to you.

you said you had 3 guests hunt 7 days so that is 7 guest days right????? Its the families of the 6 paying members that I'd be more worried about. How many have teenage boys or wives and daughters that hunt with them? It's your club, run it how you like, hunt it how you want. I asked an honest question about the "low pressure", you answered honestly, and I said it wasn't what I was looking for and told you exactly why. Like I said, good luck finding the member you are looking for. I hope you get a great guy that pays on time and doesn't ever hunt (best kind of member).

I'm sorry and misread. I thought you was insinuating 7 guest that hunted 7 days. No sir it was only a few times they would come up with another memeber or meet me up there a time or two and hunt. There would be no more than 3-4 areas signed out at a time and that was on a busy weekend. Majority of the time it would be 1-2 people there on weekends that we did hunt. And as fast as family. I can honestly say not the first memeber brought a family member. But, that's why the rules say no more than 2 areas signed out at a time. Like I had said we are all in other clubs close to the house and we will go up there to get away for the weekend. And again thanks for your interest and good luck to you sir.

Not shooting your rules down but I want you and anybody that is looking at getting in your club to consider.

"Each (harvested) buck should be progressively bigger". What if on opening day, you shoot a 150 B&C buck? I guess you're screwed?!?!? Ya gotta kill a 151 or bigger?!?!?!? Can't shoot that 145 B&C that steps out!!! Just sayin' that your rule isn't practical.

Good luck! But that rule is going to cause problems if a member shoots a monster opening day or whenever and then has a smaller, BUT a 5 yr sho'nuff SHOOTER nonetheless, steps out.

Something to consider. smile

And that's why you have one management buck of choice.

A mgmt buck of choice can be a 140 B&C? The progressive "your next buck must be bigger than your previous" rule is the only rule I don't like. Other than that, I like your rules. Of course, you didn't need my approval! HA! But just giving feedback.

I hope y'all have a great hunting season! Good luck!!!!
