Well, turkey season is over. I didn't get to go very much and it was a bust in general (though I was there when my father-in-law shot one).

I saw my deer rifle today and it took my mind off to cooler temps! I know it's a long way, but I am already thinking. When will you guys start making your plans, planting, and stand work?

I'm just going to enjoy the summer off. As much time as I put in the stand when season is in, I enjoy the off-season and not having to be concerned about what direction the wind is blowing.

I just joined a lease that I hunted at a few times last year as a guest. It's an awesome place. I already made a thread about building a bridge to cross a creek. On top of that we are wanting to build a few shooting houses for some of the greenfields. I'm also eager to get back out on some public land o hunted this past season I saw a good bit of deer but never got a clean shot with my bow I'm determined to get one off of public land next season.

Never ends. I've spent a LOT of time this year on preparing a new property to get it where I want it for the 2018-19 seasons. Also, as usual, I get as much done in the spring so I can make short days of it when the temperature gets to sweltering.

I'm taking this weekend off and getting some rest after Turkey season. I'll probably start getting ready for deer season next weekend.

Usually start running cameras again at the beginning of August. Deer hunting is always in the back of my mind though, I guess everybody has their own addiction.

We never stop. We take a break here and there but, between clover field maintenance, bushhogging, shooting house maintenance, filling protein feeders, etc, we (one of the members) are at the camp nearly year round. We also had a tornado during deer season so we had extra work this year. I am excited about this year. I have some nice 4 -5 year old bucks hammering the protein stations. They are eating over 200lbs a week per feeder. One 7 year old (we have a history) is there 4 times a day. I have high hopes for him this year.

I'm thinking about going out this weekend and putting out my Trophy rocks. Do a fall plot around September.

Ive had it on my mind since the season went out. Ive been running cameras and blocks since final day. Moved a few spots and found out i had 2 absolute studs on camera. Will be moving a stand there soon. They will be giants this fall

There is just always something that needs doing. I adv. 2 weekends a month thru the summer.

Seems like I go to the camp and do something all the time during the summer. Even if it is just trimming up a few limbs on the way to the creek to go fishin

Now that the feather killin frenzy is almost over..... Glad I ain't mad at them any more.
