Well it was a bad season. The drought started it all. Couldnt plant and by the time turkey season rolled up we had lost most our birds. They were just gone by middle season. They obviously had moved on to more fertile grounds. Couldnt strike one. Seven members hunted in April and nothing. Well, two members are down today fishing and for some reason they bump six hens going down our main road. Bump two more by the lake and adding insult to insult they saw three more on the way out. Dont know why they are back on us now since we basically have no food but it makes it frustrating. Im glad I had an opportunity to chase these crazy birds this year but I feel like they got the best of me for sure. Looking forward to getting another piece of land for next year. Congrats to all who conected on a bird. I still wouldnt trade this season since I feel like I still learned more about these addicting birds. Cant wait til next season!

How do you have no food? You don't have grass, leaves, and bugs on your land? What do you think turkeys only eat chufa and corn? Sounds to me like y'all pressured it too much and they came back when you left. I'm still not sure if I should take you serious or not, but if all your post about hunting are sincere You need to pick up a new habit.

We didnt over pressure it, it hardly got hunted. Its real hilly and you can get on some ridges and hear all of Bibb County. It was just all of a sudden they was gone. We think it has alot to do with not planting fields. We do have two coon hunters but thats never affected our turkey guys from killing Toms.

Well if you could hear all off Bibb county you'd be hearing birds cause I've got 900 acres in bibb with plenty of birds. We killed 3 and missed one this year. And this was in 7 days of hunting out there. Once again why do you think not planting fields last fall did it. Turkeys only eat wheat, oats, and rye? I hunt on the NF where there is 10,000 acres where they don't plant any fall plots and there are plenty of turkeys out there. And why would they all of the sudden show back up the day after the season ended if it was because you didn't plant food plots.

buc10. Sorry, what I meant is you can hear any bird on our 416 acres, not actually the whole county, lol! Past president pretty sure its from not planting. He says, and this would make sense, that our birds eat almost exclusively, grass. Over the years weve tried different types and varieties. Tecomate has out performed all other seeds weve tested. Simple, just tastes better. Its not uncommon to find a few members sippin on some Tecomate tea from time to time. Nut shell, they just left. If I hear one, I wont alway kill it but rest assured im gonna get a strong response from him out of my Quaker Boy and folks back at camp will usually get a text to get the grease hot if you know what im sayin. They just werent on us durning the season.

Dang, net year if yall get some grass growing and an older more experienced prez i don't see how yall aint gonna slay some good boar toms with that quaker boy box. Yall might want to put in a big order of hot grease in advance. I like frying turk's too...it makes them taste the best. That's just what works for us.

Your turkeys are eating grass from food plots that in the spring is 6ft tall and stemy? Guess I'll just take you as joke from here on out.

No he said his turkeys eat grass, and you weren't able to plant any grass this fall. Clover isn't grass. What tecomate clover product were you using? Do you normally plant clover every fall? You planting an annual clover? Good luck fellas with yoUr spot. You seem that know all the answers I wonder why your success lacks? I'm in Bibb county often and I would trade you a PBT hunt on my place just for an opportunity to witness your management program and your sanctuary

If you guys are serious I can put you in touch with our coordinator of admissions to the club. We are going to an equity membership next year since we are going to try and patent some of our sanctuary tools. I will ask the club if we are currently taking applications but I dont think we are but would be able to put you in our waiting list file. You also have to pass a bow test out to 85 yards.

No. Which ever member kills the biggest buck during deer season becomes the next President. It a long term tradition in our club and we just know what works for us.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are, that's some funny schit right there.
I've never heard of the "coordinator of admissions" position. I'd love to hear more about the "sanctuary tools". And my bow site covers an entire deer's body at 85 yards.

Your Lock-on
Our club is far from a disaster. We have had great years most years. For us its about trying something different to see if it works. If you dont like that thats your right but shouldnt fault someone who does. If nobody tried new things we would never advance our great sport of hunting. We have a list of projects already in place for next year. First thing after sanctuary improvements is we are working on holographic doe decoys. Imagine if you can instantly holograph 6,8,12 does in your field. Were pretty excited about this and we just know what works for us.

That's awesome!
Now THAT is an idea worth a patent. Holographic decoys. I want one!

OB, we are in the early stages of securing our intellectual property with our clubs attorney. Once everything is a go he says we can start marketing even before any patents are actually issued. Obviously all the brothers of aldeer would get discounted rates on any products that hit the market place. I know some folks who know some folks who own Big Bass in Prattville and we will likely start there and branch out from there. We have big plans for our club where our motto is, the club comes first, and we just know what works for us.

Some of you Aldeer sleuths need to figure out exactly which ghost of Aldeer past ole Whild Bill really is. It's good stuff I have to admit.

Hey Bill. I'm new here and a new turkey hunter. I don't know where you live but I get around the state a good bit and often through Bibb County. Would love to buy you a beer one day and pick your brain. I'm especially intrigued about the things that work for you and I think CM? Do y'all hunt together?

Remuck. I'm alway a sucker for an ice cold Angry Orchard or a Red's Green Apple Ale and would love to make this happen. Me and ol cm are life long friends and yes we hunt together. He is a past president and a good one at that. We have connected on quite a few PBT's over the years. If you are new to turkey hunting we would love to share our experiences with you. We have a different approach to it but we just know what works for us. Thats what this place is all about, brothers helping brothers!

Muck, if your in birmingham today me and ol cm are meeting up after lunch for some Strawberita's and youre welcome to join. PBT=Pig Boar Tom. Funny you mention if PBT is a beer. Were actually working on a very hoppy PBT IPA that we would like to bring to market by next year. Ol CM is a very good brewer and he also makes a nice moon shine. Were thinking of naming it PBT IPA, Southern Thunder. All proceeds go back into the club because the club comes first. Goodman, weather plays a factor in all things in nature, so yes.

I personally like the low pressure situation on their club. Heck, they've got 413 whole acres and only 7 members turkey hunted in April. If that aint the definition of a low pressure sanctuary, I dont know what is.

Yeah but when the members only hunt cloaked by a holographic image of a hen the PBT's don't feel any pressure. Add a little hen in heat drag rag and some crickets in your pockets, and the PBT's will be hunting you instead of the other way around.

Or even better get your tin of snuff and pour some Hen in Heat in it and make a YouTube video showing how to use it!!

Well we are looking at a large piece of land and one with 4-5 bedroom cabin. But our 416 acre lease is bordered by forever wild land so we are able to keep the pressure off our lease. Looking like we may have member #8 if Muck can make it through the paperwork. Looking forward to putting him on a bird come next season. Hen in heat, LOL! Weve already tried something similar. We called c'mere PBT (spinnoff of c'mere deer). Didnt seem to really work. We just know what dont work for us too
