He turned around, came back, and started spinning like a top on the ridge and gobbling. I had already planned to use a dirt mound to slip up the back side and it worked out perfect. Every time he'd gobble I would crawl a little. I got to the dirt mound and could hear him on the other side. I couldn't decide if i wanted to cluck at him or not because our birds have been running from any kind of calling all year. Finally, I decided I would just ease back and sit down because my arms and legs were jelly.

When I eased back I snapped a twig, and that was all it took for him to walk over and take a peek. The TSS done its thang! grin

Wasn't turkey hunting today, but daughter and I did hear a bird gobble 2 seperate times around 10:00am this morning.

Went fishing with Faith this morning. She's become quite a fisherman. I don't even have to bait her hook or release her fish, unless they are too big for her hand to go around. There were a few of them I had to take off.

He was actually farther than I thought. Probably 30 yards.

Congrats Tree Hanger. That's a stud!

And congrats to you too Mr David. That looks like a good time and definitely some good sized bream.

I'm planning on giving the turkeys one last go this week or this weekend. I've only sat down on one bird in 7 hunts since I killed that one about a month ago. Our turkeys have disappeared. We have only killed 3 this year and normally kill about twice that many and still have birds gobbling! It has made me decide to go play golf and fish some weekends instead of chasing birds that won't gobble.

I hate that. I thought I'd have you a place to hunt down there but my buddy said they haven't done anything all year.

It's all good. That's the way it goes. I never would have thought I'd want a different place to go hunt haha. I Just don't understand what happened this year. Our habitat hasn't changed a bit since last year and this place has produced 5+ birds a year every year since before I was born

Enjoyed it gentleman. Sorry I missed #2 and #3. No more opportunities after that 2nd miss. Never sat down on a gobbling bird this year. Very depressing.

Yes Sir!

Glad to be on the team. Definitively a difficult year, and I believe the turkeys are able to add a point in the score cards for 2017 season.

God Bless,
David B.
