Well I lost not 1 but 2 four wheeler keys, I had a backup for my newer one but my 1988 Honda fourtrax is out of luck, this 4wheeler has some good sentimental value so I don't want to go jabbing a screwdriver down in it or hotwiring it. Has anyone delt with this before? Is there somewhere u can buy keys for these things, I'm sure you can buy the whole ignition somewhere, any help/info is much appreciated!!!

Take the switch out and any lock and key place should be able to get the serial # off of it and make a key. I've done it a few times.

On my Yamaha grizzly ignition, there was a very hard to read code stamped on it that could be used to order a key from Yamaha

I lost mine a couple of years ago for my Polaris 500 and bought a replacement switch with 2 keys on eBay way cheaper than getting a new key made. It took all of five minutes to install the new switch. I did find the keys a couple of months later.

Look on eBay . I've got 7 4wheelers running as burning rigs and cogon grass sprayers. Lost keys happen, I just cut the ignition switch out and straight wire one until I can order a new switch off eBay, hasn't failed me yet.

Bought an aftermarket switch off of E-bay. I think it was around $10-15.

I have just replaced the entire switch before.

On my honda I pulled ignition and it had a number on it. Honda order a new key with that number.
